Looking for some recommendations from those that have stayed at both.

Thinking about splurging a bit on our next Dis trip (my sister & I)...we have pretty much narrowed it down to the Poly and YC.
We have stayed at BC in the past and we like to try new resorts each trip.

After experiencing some extreme loudness from the "quiet pool" at POR our last trip (this was grown ups; not only kids). I am personally looking for some place I can relax on our park days off. I understand it is Disney and there will be kids around, etc. I am not a total negative Nelly :goodvibes .
I would love to have a balcony..a real one..not the imitation ones at BC.
For the price of these two resorts I think it is not too much to ask :confused3.

Both are close to main parks so that is not really an issue as we love both MK and Epcot.

Thanks for any info :thumbsup2

Well, YC will be much quieter than the Poly. YC has a lot of convention guests there, and not so many children. The Poly has tons of families, and a lot of traffic from outside the resort because of the Spirt of Aloha dinner show and 'Ohana. Also, about half of the resort doesn't have second floor balconies, and although you can make a request to have a room with a balcony, it is never guaranteed. Based off of what you're wanting, I would probably suggest YC :)

We have stayed at both with our ds and on May 17 it will be just dh and I and we are doing a split stay, 3 days at Polynesian and 3 days at the Yacht Club. If you are going during the summer there is no doubt both resorts will be busy with kids in the pool. I do think yacht club is a little more quieter, but at the Poly if you get a longhouse closer to the TTC you might find it a little more quieter since its location is more removed from the GCH comings and goings etc. Best of luck deciding.

We will be staying the beginning of November - sorry should have mentioned that!

If you really like both resorts, then why not give Poly a try to be on the monorail and next door to MK? It is a wonderfully relaxing resort - even with lots of kids around.

Do not hesitate to request a room change if you wind up with a terrible view - check out Tikiman's site (google it) to learn more about room locations. For us, our Poly view is much of the experience as we so enjoy relaxing on the balcony. Even just 4 nigts in a great Poly room feels like a week away from real life!!

Have a wonderful trip!!

p.s. Have stayed at both and though I love a nautical theme and walking to EPCOT, something about the Poly is especially magical: being on the mononrail, water launch and that old fashioned, yet authentic tropical theme, takes me a million miles away.
