Tropical Jeep Tour: reviews:??? (Barb)?

Well we bit the bullet and went for the Tropical Jeep Tour in Coz. It was only $8pp more to book through Disney and I would rather know that if something happened on the tour, the ship will know about it and wait for us!
Barb, I read your report on it and it sounds great...just want more details if you have time. Like, will my 12yo boy have a good time....read:is it rough enough?LOL
How long do they let you swim and lay in the sun at the beach?
What other things do you see along the way?
There are three of us, so I am assuming we will get a jeep to ourselves, will a guide be with us in the jeep?
Anyone else that has been on this excursion, I would love to hear the particulars.
Also, where do you meet the group and how big is the group that goes? ie, how many jeeps?

I hope you have an AWESOME time!!!
You will probably have your own jeep unless there happens to be a single person. I think the guides had their own jeep, but I'm not sure as I didn't pay attention. Since you drive yourself, you can make it as rough as you want!!! I was definitely ready for a massage afterwards. The only bad thing is if you happen to get a wimpy driver in front of you (happened to use for part of the trip), as the roads are much too narrow to pass. If you meet other jeeps coming the other way, one group pulls over as far as possible and stops to let the others by (they have radios so there is no danger).
We were at the beach a long time...probably an hour. The waves were really high...I was worried that we wouldn't be allowed in (they forbid it when it's dangerous), but thankfully we were able to swim. The guides kept close tabs on everyone and kept us all in one area for safety. Seems to me that the trip ran over the stated time, although I don't remember for sure.
You also get to see a ruin...the guides will tell you a story about it and then you can take photos. And of course there is the ever-popular Pee Pee Station (really!) where you stop on the way out and the way back.

It sounds like so much fun! And my dh can't wait to drive that jeep!LOL
The only one I am worried about is my 12 yo son saying we aren't going fast enough, "hit that bump", pass that jeep", ya know what I mean?
