Was very surprised to read that Guardians is supposed to be the next big ride to open. Considering its a duplicate, I would have expected Tron to open long before Guardians.
If you drew a Venn Diagram of Covid safety precautions and Covid financial savings, Disney would be right in the middle of the thing. While they were always extremely conscientious about the safety of cast members and guests, they also got very good at busting out "Covid" when they wanted to save some cash.

1. Severely reducing the parks' construction budget during (and after Covid).
2. A Covid-induced labor shortage we've all heard about.
3. Which park needed another attraction more. MK is always gonna MK. But Epcot, with all the construction in general, badly needs a new featured ride more than MK does.
