Tron roller coaster @MK?

Yeah...dreamscape is saying they want a "cheaper version" of tron (evidence piece # 4,789 that accountants are cheap and rule the domestic parks)...

...but...a shorter version of the ride might be a good thing. I'm serious...I rarely ask for shorter rides...but with the volume on magic kingdom...I think I'd rather have larger quantities and shorter lengths of rides. Increase capacity which shortens waits. If they had it to do over again...a shorter mine train might have been better.

And update today retracted that based on the covering being needed for rain storms. Makes sense, they don't want to run into the issues Test Track faces.

Sorter rides don't mean increased capacity though - I believe the original plans for the Mine Train were for it to be longer, but allow for another train load to be on the tracks at the same time

I agree about wanting higher quantity of rides - not everything needs to be a giant "E-ticket" attraction

Right...but that works too...more trains will help. But if you cut a 4:00 ride to a 2:00...you get a lot of capacity no matter what other sacrifices are made.

Ok...everyone listen up to this:

I still don't think there's anything to this (TOTS doctrine)...mainly because:
1. I don't think they'll sink more with as much capex as they've got sunk right now.
2. Even if it's planned we are years from announcement/construction...

But...and I'm abandoning the picket line...I haven't been as geeked for a rumor like this in a long time...

This appears to be an awesome thing that fits all the important criteria in my book.

i think this is what Disney wants as well. People don't spend money while standing in line... and the two rumored closings are Ellen (40ish minutes) and Great Movie Ride (20ish minutes).

screamscape had a (very disney) rumour today that the Tron coaster for wdw has already been the victim of budget cuts! Apparently even before it is officially given the go ahead, they're looking at ways to reduce cost on this.

It wouldn't surprise me, Disney's always trying to cheap out. I wouldn't mind if they did scrap the idea though and put something more family friendly.

Besides I think all of the "Tron" movies suck, even the next one.

Watch out...some low clearance ceilings will knock those ears clean off the top of your head...and they don't have booster seats at all restaurants...

I'm surprised they don't charge for booster seats. Then post a sign that says "Babies that don't have a booster seat will have to wait outside".

How old are your kids? If you don't mind me asking...

Cause they'll get bigger and all family rides will bore the hell out of them soon.

Here's hoping for the full Tron version. Speedway is junk and haven't gone on that since I was 3 years old. I don't get all the replies about needing something "more family friendly." Folks, all the rides we've been getting lately are family friendly. Toy Story, Frozen, Navi, FOP. My God, can us single adults get an occasional bone thrown our way?

I'll sign up for anything non-sim that doesn't have a bibbidi bobbity boutique attached...

I like the theming tie ins - where appropriate - but its all they're willing to do...

And this one fits Better than most.

Sure - it's called Universal ;)

J/K - but FoP has a pretty high minimum height so that isn't the best example, but there is the river ride and you are right about Frozen (and obviously Toy Story Land is coming)

I think it is more just right there would be two rides with pretty high height restrictions ... and combined that the speedway is very popular among a lot of kids
