Tron roller coaster @MK?

Yeah the track will likely have to move some.

That'd likely have to either relocate or remove the Casey Jr. station, then. Given how close that is to the Speedway and rumored Tron location, it doesn't seem possible to leave that as is.

Unless we're just gonna carve a hole right through the attraction.

It will be interesting to see. I don't think they remove that station.

That stuff was built in 2010...

...as a professor of mine said about his exams way back when "you gotta use these things 20-30 years to work the kinks out"

If they touched anything in fantasyland for any reason it means they have some serious concerns about the state of the park...I don't see it right now.

It'd also be way cheaper to reroute the train, he'll make a tunnel in it like at Disneyland through the middle of the ride that shows the primeval world or whatever

We can't have multiple threads about the same thing. We merge to have everything in one place. If people would look and see if a thread has already been created before starting a new one we wouldn't have this problem. It creates confusion either way really.

And I am entitled to my opinion that it creates unorganized difficult to follow threads. I didn't make a big deal, just agreed with another poster.

It's not just thread A to thread B, we end up merging in thread C D E F and then the comments don't match and it's just easier for most to not read or bother. This particular one is fine because of the infancy of the subject but others such as Pandora have become crazy, what is it? 7500 + comments. And it was fine before the land was open and there was no first hand, concrete info but once it opened and people were experiencing it there is no reason each ride, the restaurant, the shop, the bar etc couldn't be discussed individually without getting bogged down by forcing them all together. Simply not worth opening, just like on resorts folks give up on trying to finding answers so post new threads.

I get it, that is the control you all want, doesn't mean it's an easy read or info is easy to find once it reaches abyss like lengths. No big to me, but I see many who are frustrated on multiple boards that can't find their threads, their posts and they can't find answers they are looking for. Again, don't care - I just stop opening them - but I see and understand the frustration folks have.

I’m new-I've followed for a while, but thought I'd post for once.

I know it's not going to happen, but I feel they could do a better job re-theming what they have. I’m all for retheming rather than removing (except tower of terror-don't touch it).

It would be great if they could put the tron ride back over behind space mountain. You know what would make for a great entrance? If they brought back the old space mountain arcade and turned it into Flynn’s Arcade to enter through.

The area where the speedway is never felt like tomorrowland or fantasy land to me. So why not push it closer to fantasyland and turn it into Vanellope von Schweetz’s Sugar Rush. You could keep the track as is and just add all around it. It would be even better if they used the inflated plastic panel clouds from Tron to cover Sugar Rush so it could be used in the rain.

Stitch? I wish Wall-e was around in the parks.

Don't you agree that fundamentally we're all here to waste time/escape? So what's the problem with discussion?

As I said before take the conversation to PM if you'd like or talk to our webmasters who make the rules. I'm happy to discuss these matters but just not here.

Tomorrow land actually is moving pretty high up on the list of areas that need a jolt...just behind some Epcot embarrassments...

Buzz is pretty beat up...stitch is all but useless...the tta is just a distraction...heck...even the Astro orbiter doesn't service enough people to be of operation value.

And space and speedway can't last the way they are. Those are some great things but many are very close to the end of their operational life. They just have taken a beating.

Retheme of the whole area and real replacement of rides is closer than we think... the tron thing could really provide an operational shield for that...as could a new frontline attraction in adventure land or frontierland to draw people out of tomorrowland.

I'd love to see the Indy jones franchise pulled out of mgm for more park work and put into adventureland.

Indy would make a great presence in adventureland. Not even saying clone the ride from Disneyland, but make something original and a Jones miniland

Exaclty...I actually don't like the IJA in Disneyland...it's 20 years old and dated in my opinion.

But something new...maybe a ride and a restaurant would be nice...even with skippers now there.

It's still a relevant franchise honestly. It's got a decent following and its epitome of "adventure"land.

Agreed. There isn't a lot of tomorrow land in tomorrow land. Space Mountain is basically holding down the theme for the entire area. Love Monsters Inc. but it's inclusion seems incongruous at best. I'm not even discussing stitch.

Speedway (or slowway) drastically needs an update or to get the boot altogether. Could we get some futuristic cars that might even be minimally thrilling? I don't understand the fascination with this ride.

I suppose Carousel of Progress and he Peoplemover fit the theme of "what we though got the future would be like in the past" - but agree about the theming being middling at best

Kids love the speedway as they get to drive and be "in control" - I know my kids see being able to drive in the tea world as a big differentiator between being a kid and being an adult. But fully agree it needs a redo - I would just prefer that rather than removing it all together

There's a good 6+ acres between the tracks and world drive. I can't see a relocation of the tracks as that would force extreme curves or relocating it on the other side of SM. Seems easier to have some means for guests to go over the tracks rather than re-routing the railroad (which would mean a closure for a year or more?).

I would think they would be done with MK for awhile. There are a couple of parks that already need attention. That is why I would be surprised for them to touch MK at this point.

The "every 5 year anniversary have an 18 month celebration" thing they were doing for a while has seemed to go by the wayside. However, with 2021 being the 50th I would expect them to have a major celebration in store. Having a new e-ticket at MK would seem to fit with that.

Don't you agree that fundamentally we're all here to waste time/escape? So what's the problem with discussion?

Absolutely. Discussion on a discussion board is great. Working counter to that by closing discussions is often unproductive to end goal.

This is an optional, fill holes in time, completely unimportant to life conversation. This isn't going to make or break anyone's day. It is at the core completely unimportant, particularly since it's "anonymous", often pure guessing. If someone chooses to blow their time reading here - that is on them. SO there is no reason to constantly take all threads who happen to be on a similar subject (yes some should merge at infancy while they are still only a page long) and keep pushing them into one that then becomes a cluster.

Actually, on the same line as merging ... if a question is asked and answered immediately ... that thread probably should be locked. It's not - because threads evolve, expand and sometimes at the end we have gained some pretty good information, good convo or healthy ;) bantering. Merge, that evolving completely goes away as topic allowance becomes more narrow and regulated.

The end goal/purpose for owners of a forum is clicks and advertising. If there are lots of threads I am drawn in to or have interest in, then I click them all trying to gather info or seeing what folks say and possible joining in. Clicks good. But it's always optional. I don't stop reading because there are multiple threads that may be similar. I actually might click on them all because I am interested. More clicks. If I see a mega thread, I pass it by, I'm not here to read encyclopedias. If folks can't find their posts & threads they more than likely will give up; if they open mega and realize it's an abyss, they move on. Clicks lost.

I like discussion, good and bad. I don't need to have my reading choices selected for me. But it's whatever.
