Tron Moving to Standby on Monday 9/9

This is why I love the Lines app from TP. Even during the day I see the over inflated wait times. I think this is Disney’s way to sell LLMP.

One night we were in DHS. TSM had a posted 50 minute wait and it was a walk on. It was maybe 8:30 pm.
I was at MK for extended evening hours on Wednesday. While the lines app is ok for wait times,* it wasn't very helpful with Tron. Maybe not enough data. I can confirm that about 11 pm the posted wait time was 30 minutes, bumped to 45 shortly after I got in line, and it took about 35 minutes. at 11:55 posted an hour, took 17 minutes. Would have been shorter but there was some weirdness going on with the two loading lines, mine basically stopped for a while so me and a few others ended up being on the last train.

*A disaster for re-optimizing plans on the fly, though.

I will be at WDW in early December and I plan to ride TRON without LLSP right before the park closure time, both on a regular night and before a MVMCP night. I do have two questions for those who have experienced the ride in similar conditions:

1) Can we access the queue until the park closure time, as well as until the start of the MVMCP on the party nights, or do they close the queue early?

2) How long (and how inflated from the posted waiting time) is the wait time you have experienced?

Thank you!

I haven't experienced this myself. However, in researching this question for myself I was told that CMs start checking wristbands for Tron specifically around 5:30 p.m. on a party night, and won't let you into the queue without one if it is too close to 6 p.m. The reason is supposedly because it's a hard close at 6 p.m. (i.e. you can't linger). They need enough time for any day guests getting in the queue to wait, ride the attraction, exit the attraction, and clear the park well before 7 p.m.

I checked the Touring Plans stats from last night just for an example. Just before closing time, the posted wait for Tron hit 170 minutes while the actual wait was reported at 37 minutes.

Having a posted wait at 4x the actual wait is very common late at night on the headliners. I’m sure the posted wait had the desired effect, which is to discourage late riders and funnel them toward the gift shops and eventually the exits.
