Tron Moving to Standby on Monday 9/9

Glad to hear. Curious what the waits will be like. I like it but way too short of a ride, and I know others feel the same. Maybe it won’t be a horrible wait.

True, this.

However, it might take the place of 7DMT as the ride that you get into the standby line for a few minutes before the official closing time at night. At least you will get to ride it before they escort you out - that will be my approach.

This is pretty much going to be the way to do it if you don’t want to pay IMO. Though I’m very curious to see how this changes the Early Entry meta. I’m still inclined to do Tomorrowland over the Mine Train shuffle over in FL but still stick with hitting Space first. (We will honestly just pay for Tron, my partner can’t ride it anyway for health reasons.) Mine Train gets hit so hard at EE because it’s a family coaster without much height requirement, so I don’t think everyone will shift over to rope dropping Tron tbh. But I think the days of chill TL rope drop are over come Monday.

Oh Disney. Just when I had our plans settled, they throw me another curve ball 2 weeks before...

it will be a horrible wait, the VQ line moves at a snails pace and they don't open even half of the line.

I have had great luck with all the VQ attractions so it stinks that it's going to standby.

It's gonna be a nightmare, FOP level wait times when it opened. 3- 4 hours, the difference is that people will be lining outside the building....

That's a surprise, although I was frequently seeing the 1:00 VQ drop open for a long time, but assumed most were choosing Tiana. I hope the reliabiliy can keep up with demand. Sept might not be the most indicative time to gauge it, since that's typically one of the slowest times of year. We'll be there early October, and now our plans will be changing. Might have to try a rope drop there.....

That outside part of the line is HOT!
One reason I never bothered with the 1p VQ for it. That outdoor section is the pits. Being speedy enough to get one of the first AM groups is the only way I’ve done it, barring the EEH queue.

We go in 2 weeks and I am very curious to see the domino effects this will have on wait times elsewhere in MK and crowd flow esp. during EE. Obviously September data should be taken with a grain of salt given how relatively quiet it is, but how much this changes strategy will be interesting to see.

Just to clarify, are they getting rid of VQ or are they adding a standby in addition to the other ways?

The official announcement only says ".....a standby queue will be available"

Personally, I don't care either way for us. We rode it last trip, it was fun but it was such a short ride it didn't really do much for us.
Not to mention its not near much else we go to while in MK so the walk over there isn't worth it.

getting rid of VQ, stand by only or you pay for ILL

oh my gosh, yes it is! for our spring break , I was in that line outside over1 hour, barely inching along. it was awful!
That line, it made me sweat more than any other wait in a line, ever!
Inching along, while longing to reach another small umbrella area of partial shade lol.

If that's the case, then it appears to be more of a money push by Disney right?

If no VQ and Standby only or purchase the ride.

So that means either most likely a crazy long SB wait or pay to ride.

Many will pay to ride. Where before you could at least get the Free VQ.
BINGO!!!

Same, but in Jan. This sucks, will have to pay for ILL now.
Cha-ching! 💰💰💰 This LL is going to bank for them. I've done the "VQ line" once and would never again get in that line. The ride isn't worth my time and agony of that line, awful!! I've done only LL last couple times or I've skipped it all together. And I'm even talking about the covered line. Fans are worthless, you are zig zagged in sea of hot humanity. I swore I would never enter that line again.

Really wonder how many LL slots Disney is going to sell?

I guess we will ride it during EEH. I’m really trying to eliminate buying too many LLSP.

I wonder when Tiana’s will go standby.

The LLSP already sells out so unless they release more slots they aren’t going to make more money. Or they can raise the price too.

I know it’s not selling out this week but it’s very low attendance right now.
