Trivago Ad causing problems in mobile site

The Trivago ad causes mobile browsers to jump to it, which is extremely annoying sine it usually causes the browser to jump to the bottom of the screen.

Hmmm. My browser is jumping to the bottom but I'm not seeing the Trivago ad - instead I see a variety of different ones.

Just checked again, and you're right! It IS the Trivago ad that I see when it jumps! Doesn't matter whether I'm using Safari or Chrome.

And it's becoming so much of a nuisance that I don't want to read the DIS boards on my phone unless I have to.

Same problem, plus on the mobile version I'm seeing huge ads in between posts. Even though I'm signed in. Very annoying.

I seem to have solved the problem for now. On Safari I saw a tiny x on the top right corner of the ad. I tapped it and a box came up, for the reason I didn't want to see the ad anymore I chose "inappropriate" for lack of a better choice. It has been gone since last night and is still gone this AM.

I just did the same, so I hope it stays gone! Phew. It was driving me up the wall!

Right now opening the DIS on my phone causes it to jump to the Trivago booking page with NO way to get back to the boards. It's like the site has been pirated by the advertisement.

If I hit a link on the DIS before the Trivago page takes over I can go there, but I can't then open anything else without getting a new page pop up. Basically all I can do on the DIS is book a hotel with Trivago.

I finally cleared my history and cookies and it now works, but....

I miss the app!

It didn't work. And sometimes it happens on our PC using Chrome, but not as often.

DIS Administration, please let Trivago know that any inclination I might have had to use their website has disappeared.

When you find things like this, send an email to admin@disboards.com telling them which ad is causing the behavior. They have some amount of control (but not complete control) over what ads appear on the site.

Thanks - I wondered how to make sure they were aware of problems with ads. I'll let them know!

Sorry, sent my email shortly after I posted above and haven't been on the boards again until just now.

BTW, I was just showing DH this issue on my iPhone, and he has it happening on his iPhone 6 Plus right now as do I. Hope it will be resolved soon.

I'm still getting this ad almost every time I open a page. I've taken to reporting the ad each time (with the 'x' box)but not sure that has any impact.

Not only is Trivago dragging me down on the DIS forums, it drags me to the bottom when I follow a link from the DIS Updates newsletter too! That ad must have some really powerful code in it!

It's still causing problems for me.

I even tried marking the ad as inappropriate, repetitive, and irrelevant, and then it showed up on every single page I clicked. It even showed up twice on one page.
