Should I be worried or not? Shouldn't I have the documents and Magical Express luggage tags by now? I've been asking my travel agent for about a month where the documents are and she always has a fairly reasonable excuse why I don't have them yet. But now, after a frantic letter from me, she has told me that she just decided to 'request a new set of documents' from Disney that should be here next week! By then, it will be down to just days before our trip. I hope nothing goes wrong now!:worried: :worried: :worried:

Try not to worry. We never got ours either. It wasnt' a huge deal. Granted I did carry on only, so no checked bags, but when I got down to where they sign you in they were there to help. They had asked for any baggage claim tickets I had so they could fetch my bags (or you can always get your own and take them with you on the bus yourself), and got me on my bus. It wasn't a big deal at all, so don't let it get to you!

Do you have confirmation numbers for your room at least? That is the only one I would "worry" about if I didn't have at least a number I could check with Disney on.

Magic Express overnighted our baggage tags to us since we didn't get them (I called.) Except for the tags, which are a convenience but not a necessity, I'm guessing the docs aren't even required. I used to work for Royal Caribbean, and you wouldn't believe how common a problem docs not going out was. Royal Caribbean wouldn't send them out overnight without a fee though, because they really are more for show than anything else.

I think you should have had them by now. I don't mean to add any panic, but I'm also leaving in two weeks, and got all my info about 2 weeks ago from my TA. Hopefully they find your package or get the new one to you in time.

your travel agent still has plenty of time to get them to you. Even if you didn't get them it would be okay!

If she's asking for another set, I would bet she called, they said they were shipped, she hasn't recieved them.

Sometimes the TAs don't get the docs until 14 days out. Dont worry.

At least the travel agent should have the documents in their hands by 1 month prior to your trip. They didn't at least have them there? I can understand it taking a few days extra for a TA to then ship the documents to you after they get them, but 2 weeks before your trip is cutting it awfully close.

I'd probably get on the phone with them, and have them provide you with confirmations of your ressie #, your travel dates, etc., then make them promise to overnight those documents to you ASAP. Make sure to document the time/date of the call as well as who you talk to.

We booked directly with CRO. Our check-in date for WL is October 6, and we received our documents this past Saturday, September 1. WDW has always seemed to get us our documents about one month prior to check in. It sounds to me like your TA is dropping the ball.

I leave on Monday and received my Magical Express info. last Wednesday. My travel agent sent the documents overnight so that I would have it in plenty of time.

Sometimes the TA doesn't get the docs a month out. I didn't get the ME tickets for a recent customers trip until 4 days before once!

I poked my head in at my travel agents office yesterday and she had JUST received my ME package so that was at 26 days out. She says she's expecting one more package from Disney and thinks it will arrive next week and then she'll call me in to go over everything with us. That sounds like about the 3 week mark.

Thank you everyone for telling your experiences with this. Maybe I won't panic yet....too much!:upsidedow

Well, there's no need to panic, necessarily, but I'd get on the phone ASAP and stay on the phone with them until you are satisfied. Don't let them give you the "I'll call you in a couple of hours" spiel. Make sure they understand you're willing to hold on the line while they research whatever it is they have to research. But they should have the information/documents you need already at their disposal by this time.

We leave in 15 days and also have not received our final documents - we're not using ME. I booked directly w/CRO and we have a package w/free dining and my parents have another package w/free dining and neither of us have received our final docs. I called CRO the other day and they claim they were sent out on 8/11- but, BOTH of us didn't receive our packages - how strange is that? I could see maybe one being lost in the mail - but, TWO - that went to two different addresses??

We are 15 days out and I just got mine in the mail last night. They should be arriving shortly. You could always call back and speak to CRO again. If you don't get an acceptable answer about where your documents are right at this moment, I'd ask to speak to a supervisor.

What documents are you waiting for? If you aren't using ME, then there aren't really any documents you need. You wouldn't receive your passes until you check in.

Good point, but also tell them you're not getting off the phone without a satisfactory answer. You've already paid for your vacation by this point, so it's not unreasonable to expect all travel documents to be available in one form or another immediately. Maybe they can fax or email them to you via pdf format?

In the past I've received a folder with different "vouchers" - plant hollywood, sea racers, ect... along with a plastic holder and luggage tags.

Okay, I have my envelopes here.

I paid in full August 8.

My DME packet was mailed out August 13, and arrived around August 19.

My "everything else" packet was mailed August 21, and while I don't recall exactly when I got it, it did arrive in a timely manner.

Now, compare that to last year, when I made my reservation through a TA (note: both years' reservations made the first day free dining was available to the general public):
- I never got my 'everything else' packet. The TA called Disney, they said they mailed it out, told her where (my address, different zip), said they would send it out again. Still nothing. Called again. Same story. I called directly and finally got through layers of CMs to be assured that yes, I have a reservation even if the paperwork doesn't come. TA arranges with Disney for packet, with vouchers and luggage tag, to be waiting for me when I check in.
- I check in Friday night. They have no paperwork for me, other than the standard stuff, and WDTC is closed for the night. Come back in the morning. I come back in the morning. Nobody knows what I'm talking about. WDTC says they'll send it over and it'll be there Sunday. Sunday, nothing. WDTC says they can't do anything and to call Monday. By Monday, my trip is half over already  Monday, still nothing. Finally, a manager arranges to credit my room for a reasonable amount based on the value of the vouchers. I never did get the luggage tag (which is, really, the TRUE reason I booked this upcoming trip :teeth: )
- Also, obviously, no DME packet; must have gone to same non-existent location as my other stuff. Anyway, I called DME directly, and they FedExed a new packet to me which arrived a week before I left.

I sure hope this all works out. To the OP, did you ever say if you had your confirmation number?

Yes, thank goodness I have my confirmation number. I know that the # is the most important thing I need at checkin, even if nothing else gets to me in time. The DME luggage tags really do make it simple to get through the airport without ever thinking about your luggage. It sounds silly, but I was looking forward to that. :) Also, after I pay for a package in full, I really look forward to getting that envelope in the mail from Disney! My TA emailed last night, and said she has requested a 'new set' of documents and they should be sent to her overnight, and then to me right away. Hmmm, that sounds familiar.....:upsidedow
