We had decided that since we were having our parents visit during our trip, we would try to fit in as much as we could on Monday. We began our day grabbing a quick breakfast in the YC lobby. We really enjoyed being able to grab a quick bagel, coffee and milk in the morning. Then, it was off to the bus stop to wait for a MK bus! Our DS's first bus ride of the trip began with a very loud, "WHEE!" as soon as the bus began moving. Since we were sitting right behind the driver, the driver laughed about how excited our DS was about this ride!
There's nothing like walking down Main Street the first time on each trip. Our DS was saying, "Disney World, Disney World". I've trained him well, wink, wink! We headed straight to our favorite, Buzz. We grabbed a fastpass for Pooh first and then walked through the line. It only had a ten minute wait. But, it seemed like less than that. Then, we walked to Fantasyland and did the teacups, took pics with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and the White Rabbit. Then, when our Fastpass time arrived, we grabbed another fastpass for Peter Pan. Then we rode Pooh, Cinderella's Carousel, IASW,and then rode our fastpass time for Peter Pan. We watched Merlin's performance and then went into Tinkerbell's Treasures for a Peter Pan figurine purchase for our DS. He watched the movie a week before our trip and is now a huge fan of Peter Pan and Hook! Then, we grabbed a few pretzels and walked to Adventureland and did Pirates. Our DS loved the ride! When we got out, Peter Pan, Wendy, Hook and Smee where signing autographs. DS wouldn't get in line so we just waved from a distance. Then, we caught the train and got off in Toon Town. Our DS saw the playground from the train and made a beeline for it! We spent quite a bit of time letting him play and then grabbed some fruit from the stand. We decided to stay the day until the park closed. Two things on my agenda were the parade and fireworks. We decided to hit both today. We headed towards Main Street to stake out a spot in the shade for the parade. We grabbed hot dogs from Casey's and had a little picnic while we waited. DH decided to go get his haircut while we waited. A CM came up to me and asked me to participate in a survey. She gave my DS a ton of stickers afterwards! We chatted a bit and then she took a family picture of us when my DH returned.
We watched the parade. Although I liked the snowglobes, I thought that it was missing something. I think the music just doesn't capture the experience. But, our DS loved it. After the parade, DH went to check his cell phone messages. He came back and announced that we had a new nephew! My sister had the baby around 12:30 that day. I will never forget where we were when we heard the news! Unfortunately, his cell phone died so we had to wait until we returned to the room later that night to call in our congratulations. We strolled though the shops next and DH spent a little $$ in the Confectionary. DS got his first official Pooh lollipop!
Since it was close to 4 pm and DS had yet to nap, we decided to try the People Mover. It worked like a charm! We only had to ride two times until he was fast asleep! We layed him in his stroller and he napped until the fireworks went off. While DS napped, DH sat on a bench in the hub, saving a place for us to watch the fireworks. I did some shopping again. It had gotten very cold, so I bought a warm fleece sweatshirt to use as a blanket for our sleeping DS. We bought yet another bucket of popcorn and sat and enjoyed people watching. We began to talk to a family from Washington State. They are grain farmers and have 7 children ranging in ages from one in college to 3 years old. It was sooo nice to talk with them! We watched the fireworks together, chatting while we watched. Then, we continued to talk while the park emptied out. Since, we had been talking for so long, we actually got to see and hear the "kiss goodnight"! I'm so glad that we stayed to see it. It was an unexpected treat. We said goodbye to our new friends, wishing them a wonderful vacation and headed out of the park. DH said why not catch the monorail to Epcot? So, we caught the resort monorail, shorter line and a tip from these boards and then boarded the Epcot monorail. By the time we got there, we realized that we hadn't eaten dinner yet. We grabbed a bite at the Electric Umbrella and then walked around WS.
It had been a long, but magical day, so we decided to just walk back to the YC. We charged DH's cell phone and then called to congratulate my sister and welcome my new nephew! What a magical day!
