Since DH's idea of a vacation is to sleep in and relax, we decided to just wake up when our two year old wakes up. He's up by 7:15. Since we had spent the first week in Boca Raton, I had some laundry to do. I left DS and DH snuggling in bed and put a couple of loads of laundry in. I returned to get DS and we went to the lobby where you can get coffe, soda, juice, cereal, bagels, muffins, coissants and danish. We utilized this for breakfast and/or coffee and soda quite a few times. After DS and I had a small bite, you have to feed these little ones early when they are hungry, we watched some of the cartoons that they play in the lobby. DS loved the miniature furniture and we had to make sure we weren't in a hurry whenever we walked through the lobb After a quick run through the resort store, we put the laundry in the dryer and returned to the room to wake up Daddy! I finish all of the laundry by 9:30. We had a 10 am ps for Goofy's Character Breakfast at the BC. We did this breakfast several times last year. Our DS loves Chip, especially Dale and the characters at this meal seem to give lots of time and attention and you don't seem to be rushed out.
We had an awesome time at the character meal. Our DS received tons of attention. Goofy even picked him right up into the air for a huge hug! We stuffed ourselves full and then rolled out of there. We walked around the BC a bit and then the YC lobby. It was pouring today and my Dad will be meeting us at the YC in the afternoon. My parents recently relocated to Jacksonville from NJ. My Mom was up in NJ with my sister who was expecting her 2nd baby at any moment. My Dad came over to visit with us while we were on vacation. We let our DS watch the cartoons on the tv and we enjoyed taking pictures of the huge Christmas tree that was up in the lobby. This is a great time of year to go. They begin to put up the holiday decorations in the resorts. We decide that since my Dad wouldn't arrive until after 2pm, we would get our DS a nap. My DH stayed in the room and napped too, while I went to return our rental car at the Dolphin and then for a manicure! It was sooo nice to have time to just hang out at the resort. Although it was pouring and miserable outside, we took advantage of some of the resort's other offerings.
My Dad arrived and we had an awesome visit. My DS is a "Pop Pop's boy" big time. The sun rises and sets with his Pop Pop, so it was magical to see them spending some quality time together.
We hit Beaches & Cream for a little ice cream and showed Dad the YC a bit. We also spent some time in the Arcade since it was raining so hard. The rain let up a bit for us to stroll around Storm along bay. Although it was a rainy day, there were still quite a few kids enjoying the pool!
We had planned on going to Epcot with Dad and eating at Le Cellier, but since it was pouring soooo hard, we decided to eat at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. We were able to get in without a PS. The food was awesome and very filling. By the time we finished with dinner, the rain had stopped. We walked over to the Boardwalk and ESPN again. There was a sweatshhirt that DH had seen the night before and it had gotten cold that night. We then decided to hit Epcot! We enjoyed showing my Dad around a bit. We did Spaceship Earth, DS had to sit on Pop Pop's lap, of course! Then we did Ice Station Cool. My Dad didn't care for any of the flavors! He likes the original! Then, I told Dad about Test Track. I had never been on it. The last time, I was pregnant and I didn't think to try it last year when DS was one. Dad was up for it, so he and I went on! All I can say is cool!!! What at special moment to go on a ride with your Dad when you are all grown up. We had a blast and then walked back through the International Gateway while Illuminations was going on.
We made plans to meet Pop Pop for breakfast at the BC again; told you we enjoyed that breakfast! We settled little guy in for bed and we all fell asleep!
