Triple D's Flying into Summer - June Edition

Erica....feel free to send the rain to Central Texas...we need some steady showers. Going to hit 100 every day this week and our ground is dry!

Thanks for posting, everyone!! Keep it up!

I'll get everything updated later on today. Just back last night from my 1/2 Ironman. It went ok. Will post a RR later, as soon as I edit it some and make it more interesting and/or informative. ;)

Was sick most of last week, still fighting that bronchitis or cold or whatever started the week before. Good think I can double my miles from the past week!

Swim: none (besides race day)
Bike: 18 miles/ 1:17
Run/walk: 2.5 miles/ :30

Race: 1.2 mile swim/56 mile bike/13.1 mile run = 70.3 miles, doubled is 140.6
Time of 7:08

Totals: 161.1 miles/ 8:55 hours

Cheers! :goodvibes

Nice report, Betsy, and congratulations on doing so well! Especially the swim with the sore shoulder. What kind of bike do you ride?

Strong week, guys!!
Spreadsheet is finally updated with the week's totals.

Augie...thanks for reading it. It was a good day, though long. I ride a Cervelo and love it!

Great job Betsy, and welcome to our new members! I am one of those (ahem) occasional posters that was mentioned. I blame it all on Facebook - I spend so much time there now I forget to check in on the Disboards!

I am posting today because I really need to find some motivation again. I have had a really overwhelmingly busy spring, and it has been quite stressful. I seem to have lost my mojo, particularly this month - I have run only twice this month so far!

So I'm just signing in to ask for some butt-kicking! Go ahead, I need it!

Kira, Get up, get out, get going!! :)

Just stopping by to tell all the Dads on the team HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!!!! I hope your day is everything that you were hoping for!

God Bless!

The Mixer starts here on the 'Ohana thread....

:stitch:'Ohana Monday Mixer :stitch:

I asked a variation of this on team thread, but it makes for a good general prompt. Lots of us are finalizing our late summer/fall/early 2010 race schedules and/or in training for them. So let's talk events. Two questions:

  1. What event have you committed to that you're most looking forward to, Disney marathon weekend excluded? And
  2. What are you most looking forward to about Disney marathon weekend, if you are attending? (With sympathy :grouphug: to those who are not.)

Hello 3D's! Happy Father's Day to the dads here. Hope some of you are staying drier than we are in this area. The rain does not want to leave! At least it seems to stay away a good part of the weekends, anyway. But a few times this week I got rained on for the ride home from work.

Betsy, nice bike! My road bike is a Cannondale. I have a Specialized mtb, and my commuter is my old Diamondback mtb, almost 20 years old, on its 4th bottom bracket and many sets of tires. I guess the only original parts on it now are the frame and brake levers.

Vic, hope you get back to training soon.

I had a big bike weekend. On Saturday I participated in the Harpoon Brewery's Brewey to Brewery ride. It went from their Boston location to their Vermont brewery. 150 miles, and you had to do it in 10 hours or less. I was quite pleased with my 8 hour and 15 minute time. It was the longest ride I have ever done, with some wicked hills to get up, but look forward to signing up for next year! Hey, they had beer at the end!

So, counting my brewery mileage, the tally for the week is 237 miles and 13 hours, 45 minutes.

And I have a new friend on Facebook. Hi Jen!

Have a good week, everyone!

Augie

Augie, sounds like a very fun ride! Congratualtions.

For me, I will be a little late reporting my miles/hours for this past week as the computer that I keep track of miles/hours crashed. I should have it back from the shop in a few days and be able to post my miles/hours for the week.
You'd think I could remember them, but:confused3I can't.

Have a great week Triple D's.

No training for me this last week. Was in Omaha part of last week and although I had good intentions on getting some training in I got a little side tracked by the CWS!!! It's so much better in person than on TV. Now it's time to rest up, recover and get back on track training wise! sigh....

Kira, can we both kick each others butts into gear!??!! I've been slacking sooooo bad lately and I feel miserable because of it. I know I should exercise, and that I'll feel better doing it...but I slack. :(

One training day this week (June 15-21):

miles: 3.5
minutes: 40mins

Hello duckies

Training for June 15-21

Running
52.5 miles
9.25 hours

biking
120 miles
10.5 hours

walking
15 miles
5 hours

Have a great week and fourth of July leaving Thursday for Tae kwon Do world Championships in Arkansas. DS is competing then were going to visit DB for a week. Talk to you all when I get back. Keep those miles coming Rich.

Hope all the dads had a great fathers day.

My totals for the week of June 15 - 21 was

Distance: 13.5 miles
Time: 2.53 hrs

The kick in the butt worked - I did 4.3 miles on Sunday! Thanks!

I'm giving my totals for June so far. Don't laugh (most of these miles are in the past week):

Miles - 10.1
Minutes - 127

I plan to get out there 3 times this week again, and you'll hear from me next weekend. However, on Sunday I am flying with the family to London & Paris for 10 days :cool1:, and I do not expect to get full training weeks in while we're there. I am aiming for one nice long run in both London and Paris - I think that will be a really fun way to see the cities! I'll be back on July 9th and will report in about how I did.

nice job Kira! my kick in the butt to you helped me out today too...

ran 5 miles today! nice and slow and took my time with my best friend...but we did it!! Not trying to break any records...yayyy! happy dance!

Lets hope that my streak lasts 2 days :)

Hey Team! There is so much going on and it is so late. I think I need to have my head examined about my internet hours. Things just don't make sense when I try to stay up this late knowing what time I have to get up in the morning. (No wonder I always want a nap!:rotfl:)

Rich Have fun at the Tournament!! That sounds like something I would enjoy watching. (enjoy more in participating but I guess I would need to take lessons first. lol

My miles suffered a bit this week. I missed a couple of days worth of training because of work and a birthday party for an old friend. But still tried to get out as much as I could. So with that being said, here we go.

Miles - 85
Hours - 11 (went for a very long walk)

Hope all is well with everyone. I will be back in the next day or two to see how you all are.

Take care and have a great week!
Bryan:cheer2:

Augie - beer at the end always makes me go faster, too. Sounds like a challenging, rewarding ride. I'm considering a LONG ride late next summer and may come looking for road bike advice.

Week of June 15-21
405 minutes
28 miles

It's going to be ninety-three degress for the rest of the week. blech.

Ronda

No outside wogging for me this week. It's supposed to be 100+ and humid all this week. :scared1: We usually don't have this kind of weather until July-August.
I'll be hitting the dreadmill this week and try to do at least 3 miles a day.

No promises, but it helps when I put it in print.:goodvibes
