Triple D's are Flying to Octoberfest

Happy Halloween, everyone! And welcome to another month. Hope everyone is doing well, how were the trick or treaters? We do not get many here, I think it is the driveway that keeps them away.

So, mileage for the last week of October - I had 154 miles, and 9 hours, 39 minutes. 1:09 of that was running the ToT 13K. My first Disney race, and it was a lot of fun. Nice weather, and running through the park was pretty cool, and no problem doing it at night. Looking forward to the half. Met a few WISH'ers with the bright green shirts. How did you like the race, AUdisneyDad? Bryan, how is the leg doing?

Have a good week! And don't forget to change the clocks......

Hi everyone! We have been dealing with the flu here (not to mention the major distraction of the World Series!), but I after a really bad week 2 weeks ago I am back on track. Totals for the last 2 weeks of October:

Miles: 15
Minutes: 300 (includes running and my scuba diving class)
The really great thing is that I did an 8 mile run last weekend, and a 10 mile run today, and my Achilles feels great! I really hope I'm out of the woods with that one.

And Bryan, take care of yourself and don't worry about us! It's great to see you putting in the mileage you are doing with all you are dealing with.

Wow...November already! Beautiful day here in Kansas, 70 degrees, sunny and low humidity......heaven.

Totals for the last week of October:
415 minutes 18 miles

Go Triple D's.

Hello Ducks. Totals for the last week of October.

Hi, everyone!!

Sorry for my absence...I was out of town almost constantly for about a 5-6 week period (one or two days at a time at home between trips), so when I got home last week and had a week to myself...I literally made that a week. to. myself!! I needed to recharge my batteries, so to speak, in the worst way!!

One more long trip currently, then the travel will settle down and I am glad. Especially because I'll be stuck on the treadmill the next 2 weeks due to work/weather/lack of daylight/cold and I don't enjoy that very much. But we have to do what we can, so our running is successful!

Spreadsheet is updated. And corrected! Sorry, Tricia!

My last week of October was:

21.0 miles running (including double for a race); 12.5 miles bike

33.5 miles total, with 6:00 training time, including bike/run/stretch/core.

Had a stonker of a long run on Saturday, but ran better yesterday. Sometimes the tough training days are really the good ones because you learn more from them!

Glad the TOT peeps had fun!

On to November!! If I don't see a thread from Bryan in the next day or two, I'll get it started. :goodvibes

Keep those posts coming!! Lots of holes in our spreadsheet (so sorry I haven't been the cheerleader I would like to be :cheer2:), but we have a great core group, and I am sincerely looking forward to meeting you all at the marathon weekend!

No problem Betsy. I just didn't want it to get lost. Glad you had a week to yourself to recharge. I too had a stonker of a run on Saturday but got on my bike on Sunday and rode my 13 miles instead of run them - I know not the same but still it was something.

Have a good week Triple D's and happy November - now we are getting into my favorite time of year (besides the getting older part at the end of the month when its my bday) I too will be busy in the next couple of weeks (got to get my Goofy training in - getting down to the wire here)

Ahoff, I really enjoyed the TOT 13k also. Its good to hear that someone else had a good time also. I thought the course was well laid out minus the dirt road behind Wide World of Sports. The total experience was awesome though from the DJ's to running through the park. I ran it in 1 hr. 43 min. Not the time I wanted but I had trouble working through some of the traffic, but I am so ready for the Half Marathon now.

WOW. The Ducks are Flying !!Great Job :)

Glad to see that the TOT was fun. I WISH I could have made it. I am not doing much between my races now. I like to see all those biking miles. I hope to stop looking at my bike someday and ride it.

Oct 22-31
Run 17.2 & a few hockey games for 270 min.

I am heading to Indyfor the Monumental Marathon this weekend to try to qualify for Boston !! Need 3:30 :thumbsup2

My Best to all Ducks

Tricia, Happy Birthday (a little early) from a fellow Sagitarian! Mine is right around Thanksgiving.

AU Dad, The dirt road was my favorite part, in a way. I much prefer running on dirt or grass over pavement. And the short stretch on the track was nice! (go Fruiti) I did not get the clue from the loadspeakers until after the race, though I had an idea. Congratulations on your time. This was the longest I have run in a long time, most of what I do are mostly 5K's and the double 2 mile duathlons (with a 10 mile bike ride in between). So I had no idea what to expect for a time, I was hoping to be under 1:30, which I managed to do. I too am looking forward to the half, which will be here before we know it!

Dave, good luck with your marathon this weekend.

Speaking of getting old, Cabot Cheese is starting their virtual race to Vermont, leaving from Las Vegas. It starts today, you can sign up here http://www.cabotcheese.coop/vegas_to_vermont/ This might not apply to everyone, the one requirement is that you be over 50. It is another great way to stay motivated.

Have a good week, everyone!

Hey Gang! I haven't had a computer for a while, neither a desktop or a laptop. It has been difficult to say the least. But that is the reason why I haven't been around as much as I would like to be.

I have been getting in some miles in. Still not what I would like to do but some in. I know Liz is still getting in her 12 miles and 4 hours per week. Actually, I think she told me this past weekend she was going to do 8 miles.

For me, my miles are low for the week.

Miles - 62
Hours - 8

Hopefully, the next couple of months will be a bit better.

I am very proud of all of you and your efforts! You guys are great. Thank you for all that you have done for the whole year. It has been a lot of fun. We are in the home stretch now. Let's finish off as strong as we started.

Have a great November everyone!
Bryan

Hey guys! Just wanted to pop in and say hi :) I'll try to post my Oct hours when I'm at work. Training has been on and off. Had a horrible IT Band flareup last week so I've been doing absolutely nothing but stretching lately. Went to the dr yest for it (it was so bad I wanted to make sure it wasn't anything else!) and he confirmed it's 'just' my IT Band. Hopefully I can start adding up those miles again soon!

Augie - my bday is the day after Thanksgiving so we have bday's right around each other. Yeah another Sagittarius.

Happy Tuesday everyone. Gonna get 4 miles in tonight on the TM while watching Biggest Loser.
