Triple D's are Flying to Octoberfest

Hello 3D's! Halfway through october already, time is flying by. Bryan, hope you recover soon from the leg!

My mileage for this week (8th to 14th) is 119 miles, and 8hours, 39 minutes. The odd time includes 1:39 for an off road duathlon I did last Sunday, first time at this event, and I finished mid pack but 2nd in my age group. The winner was actually 4th overall and finished 20 minutes in front of me. The course was so tough I was actually looking forward to the 2nd run. The mileage includes 14 miles of running , 8 of them double miles from the duathlon.

One week from today at this time I will be on my way to Disney! And the ToT 13K!

I'm actually posting my October results while it is still October! Hell must be freezing over or something (maybe it is - it's pretty freezing cold here today!).

I am counting the pool time from my scuba diving classes in my minutes. As far as I am concerned, that is some of the most strenuous cross-training I have ever done! So, without further ado:
October 1-7: 8 miles, 200 minutes
October 8-14: 14.8 miles, 250 minutes

Wow - I'm doing better than I thought I was! Still behind in my training for the marathon, but feeling much better about it than I was just a few weeks ago.

Sorry to hear about your injury Bryan.

My totals for the week of Oct. 8 - 14 were

Distance: 30 miles
Duration: 5 hours

Hope eveyones training is going well, especially for the ones that are going to run the TOT 5k and 13k coming up.

Hello Ducks,

I am taking off to the Marathon in Newport RI this weekend. They are talking about 30 - 40 mph winds off the ocean with heavy rain and 40 degrees !!! I received an email that they may cancel the race but will not know till morning. I will pray for no wind, don't mind rain & cold.

totals for Oct 8 - 14
ran 28.5 miles for 267 min

Have a great week
Dave

PS: I am glad to see you guys pushing up the training for Disney.

Wow! I am not going to complain about clouds, calm and 42 degrees ever again. Good luck. I hope they get it in, but wow!

Hi, guys...
Bryan...hope you heal quickly.

Hugs to all...I'm here...just busier than one legged man in a butt-kicking contest. Hardly know what time zone I'm in.
Does life have a 'pause' button?

Need to gather my latest miles (not too many this past week) and get us updated...will try to have it done by late today, if not tomorrow. Not going to have internet much of today.

Cheers!

OK...updated for what we have. I'll post my hours/miles ASAP.

Bryan...did you have any totals for yourself for last week of Sept? or did I miss them somewhere?

Big Vic...where are you? hugs!!!

Off on another trip.

Sorry about the late miles post. We've been crazy running kids everywhere.

Bryan heal up soon my friend.

Dave good luck if they run that marathon.

Miles Oct 8-14
Running
52.5 miles
9.30 hours

Biking
90 miles
8.50 hours

Have a great week everyone

Here is my results in the worst weather I have ever run in !! I had to run with my eyes closed for every 10 steps because the hail was killing my eyes. We had outrageous wind. I actually got pushed over 2 times by the wind. I saw lots of people get pushed over by wind gusts. I think they peaked about 40 MPH. I had one mile that took me 13.5 min into the wind and then later with the wind at my back it took me 6:15 !! The rain/hail never stopped so it made it a cold day. I didn't follow my plan to run/walk because I got too cold when I walked so I changed the plan to jog the whole race. I ran the 1st half and the 2nd half with only a 3 min difference. First 1/2 1:59:57 Finish 4:03:01

When I was running I was trying to decide what was better. Disney heat or New England Nor Easta ? :confused3 both stink !! What do u guy think ?

Dave

Dave, souuds like that was some race! Congratulations for finishing! We had weather like that here (without the hail) and I chose not to do the duathlon I had planned for.

I am hoping for better weather this weekend!

Dave Congrats on finishing that race. That sounds like it was no fun at all.

Hello Duckies! Hope everyone is having a good week! Hope your leg is feeling better, Bryan.

A few days of rain this week so did not get out every day. I did run once. My miles are 113 and the time is 8.25 hours.

I do not know if any of you are over 50, but Cabot Cheese is starting another virtual trip, this time going from Las Veagas back to Vermont. It starts on November 1st. I do not have the link, but a google of Cabot Cheese will probably get you there.

Have a great week, everyone! I am off to DW tomorrow, doing the ToT. Ths will be the longest I have run in a while, but I think I will finish.

Augie

Dave....crazy race! good job for hanging in there!

Spreadsheet is updated.

My totals for Oct. 15-21 are:

10.2 miles running (I slacked last weekend)/ 2:00
0.9 miles swimming/ :35
weights/stretching / :40

Total: 11.1 miles/ 3:15 hours

Bring on the posts!! In spite of missing some training last weekend, I'm feeling pretty good about my running, and optimistic for Goofy. Main goal is to stay healthy. Have been doing some amount of treadmill running this week due to work and lack of daylight, but it's not too terrible. I really prefer running outside when I can.

Cheers!

Hey Gang! I owe everyone here some major apologies for my absence. I know that I haven't been doing my job around here in anyway. I have been letting my personal life beat me down into submission and have theoretically tapped out. Things have been tough but I should still be able to come on at least once a week to post my totals. I am very sorry for letting everyone down.

I have been still exercising as I could. I was having to limit it as I was doing some rehab on my leg. But I still have some miles.

Week of October 14:
Miles - 50
Hours - 8.25

Week of October 21:
Miles - 40
Hours - 7

Liz is still doing her miles too. She is averaging 10 miles per week and 4 hours per week. I am not for sure how far behind she may be on her posting but that is her average.

Hope that helps!

PS I want to thank Betsy from the bottom of my heart for everything she is and has been doing. You are a true friend, a great co-captain and an incredible inspiration. Thank you for everything!!!!

We are winding down the month. I hope that this next week finds everyone healthy, happy and full of energy. Be safe! Be active! Be thankful for all that you have!

Have a great week!
Bryan

Hi, Bryan...
hang in there!
I will update your totals. Did you have anything for the last week of September?

If I can get numbers on Liz, will put those in, too. We're not a real consistent bunch, are we? But our hearts are in the right place!

Great job everyone !! Bryan just keep moving forward & thanks Betsy for what you do. Thanks to everyone for wishing me well on that race. A week later it was fun, just not during the run. I only had my race & a short run but the #'s look good :)

Oct 15- 21

Running : 55.9 miles for 270 min.

Hockey 150 min

Doing a 5 person relay in the Cape Cod Marathon tomorrow. Should be fun.

Have a great week all

Dave

Bryan, No apologies necessary.....just hang in there. We're here for you.

I've been a little slow getting back into my regular routine, but this next week I'm going to try and get back to it. :goodvibes

For week ending 10/21:
255 minutes 9 miles

Yes, pretty pathetic! I am promising myself and the great Triple D's that I will do better this week.

Hello All,

I hope everyones training is going well, Bryan sorry to here about your injury and wish you a speedy recovery. I also wanted to give my totals for the week of Oct. 14 - 21:

Distance: 42 miles

Duration: 6.5 hours

Sorry they are late I just returned home last night from DW for the TOT 13k. It was my first disney race and a pretty enjoyable experience I must say.

Bryan sorry to hear about your injuries. Hope you are able to contine to get some miles in. Pixie dust and speedy healing to you.

Back on page 2 my miles and times are posted from Sept 8 through Oct 14th. I didn't see them logged on the spreadsheet.

I also want to add my miles and times from Oct 15-21
14.6 miles - 188 minutes

Got a good start on miles for Oct 22-31. I was planning on doing a half marathon on Sunday but I am not going to do it. I stubbed my toe on Monday on my coffee table and I don't want to push it. It feels fine but I remember doing this half last year and I ended up losing my stride after it and I don't want anything to sidetrack me from Goofy training. Oh a better note my fundraising for the Goofy is going well and I only need another $50 till I meet my goal. I am so excited.
