Day 5 (April 25, 2002)
We woke up and the in-laws left and then we checked out of the suites (we didnt need a suite for the 3 of us). We had planned on visiting Islands of Adventure today so our hotel was within walking distance of Universal, but we didnt think that we would have too good of a time with McKenzie. So we visited Blizzard Beach. My daughter loved it. We only did the lazy river and Tykes Peak but my daughter absolutely loved it and I did not miss visiting the slides at all. I took McKenzie down a kiddie slide at Tykes and SHE LOVED IT!!! This was quality time with her. Shes turning into quite the little woman. Shes the light of my life. So precious!!
We headed towards our hotel but we were early. My husband is a HUGE Nascar fan so I agreed to eat at the NASCAR café at Citiwalk. Definitely wouldnt have been my choice, but it was one of his Must-Dos and theyre just as important as mine. We checked into our hotel and again ..WE NAPPED. We woke up late again. Let me comment on the Days Inn East of Universal ..WOW, I HAVE NEVER SEEN A WORSE MOTEL. Amongst other MAJOR problems .we had the HUGEST COCKROACH that I have ever seen in my life in our bathroom. I know I cant complain for $30/night, but WOW I will never skimp again. I again gave into my husband and skipped the parks again tonight I was feeling the withdrawal symptoms though. I wouldnt have done it for anyone else. His best friend from high school lived 10 mins. away and we decided to meet up with him tonight. We shopped at Belz Outlet waiting for him to arrive. He came back to the Hotel with us. We ordered pizza and hung out at the pools Tikki bar. I was disappointed. My husband was enjoying being with his best friend again though.
