Our son is 15 months right now. He loves playing on slides and swings at our local park. He's also doing swimming lessons. He likes the water. We got him pooh & tigger swim trunks at
Walmart. They are huge on him. But he has a swim diaper on underneath anyway.
We are taking him to Disney in September when he is 18 months. We're staying at CBR. They have sand to play in, and quiet pools, and a main pool, and a couple playgrounds. We are hoping to rent a little speedboat and take it for a little spin around the lake. CBR has a lake, but you can't swim in the lake. I'm told they have life vests for toddlers there so I'm not planning to take one along.
As far as entertainment, I picked up some stickers, color wonders, and a little magnidoodle for the plane ride and for something to do while waiting on meals at restaurants. We have a little DVD player, but he's not really into watching movies yet. I thought I'd bring along some dum dum suckers for the plane (and lots of wet wipes). He's not had a sucker yet so this may keep him occupied for a few minues.
I guess we are going to have to pack some toddler food as well. Our son is not taking to table food very well. If it isn't peanut butter, pizza, spaghetti, cake or icecream, then our son won't eat. So I guess we'll be packing a loaf of bread and some peanut butter & applesauce just in case he can't find something he likes to eat. At least he drinks his milk. We are planning to buy some milk at the sundries section of the resort and keep it in our frig in our room so he can have some in his sippy cup before going to bed. I'm not going to carry milk around in the parks though. I don't think I could keep it cold enough. We're just going to carry some icewater and purchase milk for him for all his meals.
We're taking our umbrella stroller. And we purchased a Protect-A-Bub Shade to shield him from some of the sun. It ties right onto the stroller. We got him a little fan that attaches to the stroller too, but so far he just tries to remove it. Silly boy.
I'm pretty sure our son will sit through a show just fine. We took him to our zoo and went to the dolphin show. He sat with us just fine and watched the people until the show started, then he watched the dolphin show just fine. He acted better than he does at church. At church, he wants down to run around, at which point he gets taken to the nursery.
Not sure any of this info helped you. Have fun on your trip.
