I was thinking about some things and thought I should post it here also.

I'm going with my DGF, DParents, DSis and DBiL to WDW in December and I wanted to get 6 copies of a small thing (like a pin or a keychain) for each of us to have one to always remember this trip together!

I think this is a great thing to do, specially if going in a group of friends or something like it.

I was specifically thinking of something with Stitch and the word Ohana. (Love that movie, specially this!) Do you know if such a thing is sold at a store near Stitch's Great Escape or something like that? (is there a stitch store after this ride???)

What do you think of this idea? :stitch:

Sounds like a lovely idea! There are many small things like fridge magnets and keychains all over the place...

Maybe a quick monorail trip over to the Polynesian hotel shop - they do have the Ohana restaurant over there...?

We did something similar on a family trip several years back, but we bought small plastic pencil-box type containers at the craft store, put identical computer-printed labels on the front of each and then handed them out at the airport. Spent the flight 'individualizing' each one with stickers, markers... and everyone collected the small treasures that come up in any trip - unused fastpasses, stickers, rocks, whatever. By the end of the first few days, it sort of became a game - my mom started it - that each of us in turn would buy small things like pens (or sets, one for each person out of the set) or magnets or keychains for each other person. One person did pressed pennies for everyone, one person bought sheriff badges with names on them, one person got a set of those fancy shiny-metallic postcards.... etc. By the end of the trip, my box had all of the little family gifts and also cocktail napkins, some of the 'pixie dust' mickey glitter we got in our hair at MK, shampoo from the hotel... i don't even remember, but it was a bunch of little moments shared that I would not trade for the biggest most expensive souvenir in the World.

Ohana has always been one of my favorite concepts too!

That is an absolutely fantastic idea! :goodvibes

It's one of the bestest things we've ever done ... kind of a tradition now when we have large-group trips anyplace. The original box from WDW still sits on a shelf in my living room.

And it kind of helps too with family members who have less financial stability than others - at that size range inexpensive/free things are easy to find and just as precious!
