Back from our trip to the World. We all had a great time but tired from out trip. We are taking a one day vacation from our vacation to rest up for work! :lmao:

The kids knew we were going to Disney and thought we were staying at a Marriott nearby since they know I had enough points to stay 6 days anywhere. lol they knew nothing about the Resort stay until the Magical Express line. It was not really a line since we walked right on up.

We arrived about 11:30pm at Pop Century after a smooth flight from Texas. Boy the front desk area was sure quiet. We had 2 rooms with 2 seperate reservations. However the online check in to the resort made things a bit more smooth. There were 6 of us. 4 kids and 2 adults. We added the credit card charging priviledges to the 2 adults cards and 4 park days to each. Our room assignments were for the 90's building. Not a far walk at all from front desk/food court area. We even had adjoining rooms!!

The resort was bright, colorful, very big and fun. Kids were so excited we went to bed about 1:30am. But woke up at 7am for a day in the park.

We ate at Pop's food court. Not bad at all. A bit overcrowded as I think everyone stayed here. LOL :rotfl2: Meals are cheaper than at any 6 flags park as we just spent 2 days there for a staycation a month prior.
Kids loved the Mickey Waffles, Juice and Bacon for breakfast. DH and I had French Toast. Very yummy.

Then it was off to Animal Kingdom. The teens went one way DH and I went another with the 2 8 year olds DD and DN. We had a wheelchair for my DH8 so lines for that was not too long.

Mid day we get a call from the teens who were waiting for the Safari ride that first aid had to help them as they got overheated. After a cool sit in the first aid area, cold fruit and water they were ready to go. It was so humid during our stay. But we learned to manage.
We left the park at 4pm to head back to Pop to change into fresh clothes then to DTD for our 6:30pm reservations at Paradiso 37 with some local family members.

The food at Paradiso 37 food was delish. Guacamole was very tasty. Everyone got a different plate so we could all sample from one another. My DD8 even got a bday ice cream cone for her bday. That was nice.

Back to the hotel by 11pm. We are all tired by then and hop straight into bed. The walls at Pop are so very paper thin. You could hear every flush, shower, water usage, drawers opening/closing. Did not make for a very sleepful night. Our neighbors also decided to let their little boy play with the front door about midnight. He opened and closed that door over 20 times. I lost count.

Day 2 at the parks we slept till noon. But that was okay since we had EMH for the Magic Kingdom. We arrived at Magic Kingdom at approximately 2pm. Not a crowded park this day. Very normal attendance. At 7pm we took the boat across to the Polynesian Resort for dinner at Ohana. Very good food. The family feast of grilled shrimp, pork, steak and chicken with salad, appetizer of chicken wings and dumplings, bread served family style. Very tasty. We all agreed the dumplings, chicken and shrimp were the best. The only complaint we had is it was served so fast!! They bring out each one at a time and serve it up. But after 2 bites each it seemed another was brought out. Much too fast for us. For dessert they served bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream. We had 3. So very yummy.
Back to the parks till 2 am.

Day 3 we went to Hollywood Studios. Big mistake! It was Star Wars weekend. Very overcrowded but we did our favorite rides at least 2 times. ToT, Rockin' Rollercoaster, Star Tours all done within 30 minutes at 2 times each. Then to the Backlot Tour where on the way Darth Vader stopped and demanded photos with each child. LOL That was a treat.
DH and I left with the 2 8 year olds and headed back to Pop. The little one's enjoyed the Arcade then Playground with friends they made from New York.
The teens stayed at the park till 9pm. I slept till next day!

Day 4 was Epcot. Not very crowded at all. It seemed "normal" after Hollywood Studios. We took our time enjoying the favorites. We ended the day with a perfect view of Illuminations.

The trip was certainly Magical. :wizard: The girls received calls from Mickey, Goofy and had cards and goodies awaiting each night in the room. We do not know why except we did make note it was our DD's 8 bday on arrival. Maybe they wanted all girls to feel special.

My only gripe was the paper thin walls at the resort. We did not experience this at moderates or deluxe or off site. I really did not like hearing each flush or shower/tub use during our stay. :lmao:

Now we are planning our Thanksgiving trip. This time will be offsite as we need a house for the holiday to visit with local friends and family for a feast of a dinner!!
