Returned in wee hrs of AM Monday from 1st trip to SSR. Flew Jetblue out of JFK, one son flew Jetblue from Boston. Had a great trip, used the new Disney Dining Discount everywhere. Had a facial at the Spa. We own at OKW and BCV also. The room was 1207, a GV in the building nearest to DTD. If I can answer any ?s, ask away.

If you have an AP, you can purchase a disney dining discount card to receive 20% off your meals and liquor at most rest. in the parks and at the hotels. I am sure a search will bring up all the info on this board from a few weeks ago.

How was the GV? Did you like the spa?

I never can get enough of the details and others experiences.

Thanks for checking in!

What were your general impressions of SSR? Location? Ease of transportation to the 4 parks? Rooms? Amenities?? Thanks, I'm a trip planning junkie, never can have too much info.

The GV was lovely. We had stayed in a GV at OKW a few times. The rooms there are larger than SSR, but SSR is very elegant, but at the same time very warm. The best part about the GV to me was the separate entry door on the 2nd floor. We have 20 something year olds and they each brought a guest. We didn't hear them come in each night from PI or Jellyrolls. We had a view to die for. The grounds there are beautiful and the path to DTD was right there. The Spa was wonderful. Everyone there was terrific and the feeling of relaxation was felt when you walked in the door. As for transportation, the bus stop was about 1 minute away. We never waited very long for a bus. You also have the option of going to the bus stop at the marketplace and going to any other resort. Our sons used that to get to the BW. The food court was something we really did not use. Got a couple of flatbread pizzas and took them into the Turf Club Bar. More than 4 CMs told us they will open a full service rest. where Seasons used to be. It is connected to the bar and patio area.I assume they will wait until the resort has enough guests to warrant the cost.

I am going in March and scheduled a couple of appointments at the spa - how did you like it??? I really actually wanted to visit the Grand Floridian Spa but it's booked for the entire day by a group - so they suggested I go to the SSR spa. I'd love to hear feedback!

I loved it. I am already planning to go back in Nov. when we go for Thanksgiving. I might get the pkge that they have. I can't remember all the details, but I have all the info at home.

Thanks Maureen!

Those are some great observations about the 2nd floor entrance to the GV. It would almost be like having different spaces to share if needed.

Also the ease of transportation to the BW area. That would be great for young people to have DTD and BW easily accessible.
