Hi Guys

We are planning a summer trip to PEI and Nova Scotia. We have tons of family in the Annapolis Valley so we will stay with them, but would like to camp in PEI. I haven't been up in years and I'm really looking forward to the trip. Any suggestions for campgrounds or things to do in PEI or NS? Our kids are 13 and 15 Thanks!

We camped in at Marco Polo Campground in PEI. It was clean and quiet and fairly centrally located, not far from Cavendish. We really enjoyed Woodleigh replicas. We also enjoyed visiting Charlottetown.

I just want to state from the start that I don't have a lot of camping experience......but I can give a couple of suggestions.....

Cabot Park-Provincial Campground-is on a beautiful North Shore, lifeguarded beach, 20 minute drive to Cavendish Area, 20 minute drive to Summerside.

Twin Shores Campground-family owned campground-super nice North Shore beach, exceptionally nice tent sites. same distances from Cavendish, Summerside.
Be sure to have some soft serve ice cream from the Frosty Treat in Kensington. So yummy.

Victoria-by-the-sea- a nice little village on south side of Island, between C'town and Borden. Has little artist shops, theatre playhouse, restaurants, cafes, homemade chocolate shop, fish and fry shack, is a nice way to spend an afternoon. Really you can park and just walk around.

Basin Head- Beautiful beach on the east end of the island that many islanders make a yearly trek to, for a visit. Singing sands.

Truly the best way to spend a great day on PEI is to plan to be at the beach, with snacks, waveboards, and sunscreen.

have a great vacation.

Hi Guys
We have tons of family in the Annapolis Valley

Helloooo from the Annapolis Valley

Where is your family here?

I think you should visit Lunenburg on the South Shore.......gorgeous gorgeous place on the water. You can go on a sailboat tour, whale watching tour, lobster boat tours, horse & buggy ride through town

We have family in Avonport, Wolfville, Grand Pre......all around that area. Haven't been up to visit in a long time, but they are wonderful people and I am looking forward to showing my kids the Bay of Fundy

Any suggestions from any of you regarding getting to PEI? How long does it take to get there? Do you take the bridge or the ferry? Is 3 days and 2 nights there sufficient to check things out? Thanks again!

When the bridge first opened it attracted a lot of visitors on its own. About 13km long. Doesn't cost to come to PEI by bridge we just charge you to leave!($42.00 now I think).

Ann fans love Cavendish and the play in Charlottetown. Frosty Treat has great Ice Cream but So does St. Eleanors Dairy Bar in Summerside. Both use ADL of course.

Length of stay depends on what you would like to see. Twin shores is a beautiful campground.
Big concert in Cavendish mid July with Tim McGraw will make it over busy that weekend. Canada Summer games in late August will attract a lot of people as well. The games are spread over the island with diving actually taking place in Halifax NS. go figure?

I am thinking now that maybe we will stick more to just NS There is so much to see and do. A day at Peggy's cove, go to Lunenburg for a sail, I'd like to go hiking somewhere good. Maybe a trail ride. I was kind of bummed at first that we weren't going to do Dis this year, but now I am getting really psyched to bring everyone to NS and explore together!
