Hi, I am going to LA in October from wednesday to sunday. I want to go to DCA on Thursday and Disneyland on Friday (to watch the fireworks), so I have Wednesday and Saturday to see LA. It would be a problem, to stay five days in anaheim, and travel by car to visit the rest of the city, because of the traffic jams? Or is it possible? Thanks!

Travel time depends on where specifically you are staying. The Metro area is quite large and distances can be deceiving. I stayed once in Long Beach and it’s an hour drive from there to Disneyland.

if you know your hotel arrangements, I’d get on google maps and do some directions from your hotel to the park and whatever other places you want to see in southern CA so that you have some realistic expectations around travel time.

I agree as well that google maps is a great tool to figure out realistic travel times between areas in LA. Traffic can be downright awful and you want to minimize the amount of time you spend in a car as much as possible. Google maps also allows you to search travel times based on day of week and time of day as travelling from say LAX to Anaheim is much different on a Sunday at 7AM compared to a Friday at 3PM!

Just a thought: if you decide to add on a third day for DLR, you would get a MM with your ticket. MM is one hour early entry to DL (FL and TL) on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday. That one extra hour can help you with non-FP rides in FL and help you get into position before park opening to get a BG for ROTR!

Prioritize exactly what it is that you want to see. You won't see it all in 2 days. Los Angeles county is large and there are 4 million people living there and it often feels like they are all driving. Disneyland is actually in Orange County. They are next to each other, but 2 totally different places.

I am afraid you will encounter traffic everywhere, not just between OC and LA. You will hit traffic within the OC. Just go with the flow and allow ample time.
