We went to DL this past Feb hoping for decent 80F weather, little crowds. We found decent weather but got caught in horrific flooded weather that shut the park down lol and insane crowds and so many rides shut down (week prior to presidents day weekend).

We are crazily thinking of going back end of October. What would the weather be like, and crowds and closures of rides?
We missed grizzly River run, pirates, tower terror, train around DL, space mountain.....
Wondered if that contributed to the crazy business with those rides down?

Its been busier earler in the year with the railroad and island etc all the other stuff closed for Star Wars land. Weather should be really nice that time. Should be crowded though as thats peak of Halloween week. So early closures for the Halloween Parties.

October is a great time to visit for halloween decorations, but it will be crowded. Our weather can vary drastically in October. It could be 70 degrees or 90 degrees. Most rides will be open because it is such a busy season there. Disneyland will close early several nights during the week for the Halloween party. You need to buy your tickets for that far in advance.

Tower of Terror was closed because they were changing it to Guardians of the Galaxy. The train around DL has been closed for a long time because they are making Star Wars land. The train will reopen in a few weeks. Pirates was closed for normal refurbishment for their 50th anniversary of the ride. Most everything will be open in October. It's pretty normal for rides to be closed for refurbishment in Feb, when they expect less visitors.

Weather is a crapshoot. Be ready for the worst (like you had) and hope for the best. Should have more rides open. Are you interested in a Halloween Party? We're watching for that info to (hopefully) be released from the parks blog this week (dates, prices, etc.)

You won't find little/low/light crowds at Disneyland, unless there's bad weather, that's just not a thing anymore. Now it's busy/heavy/packed/OMG-WHY-DID-WE-DO-XMAS?!

Hahahaha yes we expected quiet crowds in Feb like we did 8 yrs previous! Boy was I shocked at the Feb crowds this year in comparison. It felt like omg why did we do this. I read the days we were there in Feb it was 8+ in crowd levels.

If we do the Halloween party it would be with the hopes of fast quick rides. One boy is anaphylactic to peanuts so trick or treating isn't really a thing we can do. Is it worth it just for the rides during the party?

It is worth it. Most of the rides had less than 10 minutes wait last year on a Monday night party. The Trick or Treat trails have allergy friendly options. You need to ask for them. I haven't been to DCA on the Halloween party nights, but have read they are horrible for crowds as there are many people who go to Disneyland not knowing about the early closures for the parties and the parties are usually sold out by the day of the party.

Idk as I've never been :( Hoping to do a party this year! But I said the same thing last & the year before that...

Weather is usually nice and warm in the day but it could be chilly at night so bring a jacket. But it will be very crowded in the days leading up to Halloween. The ride refurbishments should not be bad. Halloween time in general at Disneyland is fantastic but quite crowded.
