We spent last year at the Wilderness Lodge, and loved it! We did the Silver package that encluded a lot of extras we usually wouldn't get to do. I want to return again this fall, and I've checked out the trip reports thread every few weeks, but I never seem to find any reports from guest who enjoyed camping at Fort Wilderness. Is there a special place where these are posted?

I am trying to convince my Hubby that another trip is in our future, but since we alternate between a high dollar trip one year, and a longer camping trip the next, we aren't scheduled for a big ticket vacation this year. I think we can swing a nice camping experience this year, and he can enjoy playing golf too, at WDW.

Is there any place where I can show him some of the reports from campers. We did Hoop Dee Doo, and toured WF, and both thought we'd like to go do that sometime...but I want to do it NOW!

Can someone help me???::MinnieMo

I have been to FW several times the last being Jun 03 and I am planning to be back there this September we stay in the Cabins I have been in several different loops and i cant say I like one over the other. The Cabins are great they have a full kitchen a huge bathroom and a bedroom. I have cooked out and in the morning someone comes around an cleans out your grill. You are a bus ride away from the parks but you come back to a peaceful area. You have no one on top of you you dont hear people running in a hall way. I can't say what it's like in a tent or a rv but people seem to be having a good time. there are trails to walk or ride animals to see. You can canoe rent a goff cart Fish, and at night you can go to the Camp fire and see a movie. Hope this helps. You are correct you dont see many trip reports on this resort area.

My 8-part trip report from this spring can be found by using the search feature.

Look for postings by VAN in the Trip Report section.

We drove down with our camper from SW Michigan for a 2 week stay earlier this year. Since we visit almost every year we need to go on the "Econo" plan so tend to spend a lot of time just enjoying the warm weather and the resort. We only went into the parks 3 days this year.

Enjoy.

We have stayed at several other Disney resorts and have stayed off site as well. As far as I am concerned, Fort Wilderness is the only way to go for our family of five. We have a 35 ft. travel trailer that we pull from SC (about 10 hours). We love camping and Fort Wilderness is the ultimate camping experience. We have the best of both worlds. We have all the Disney magic all around us, yet we have the comfort of our own "home". We have gone to Fort Wilderness for three years in a row for about 10 days each year and are already planning next year's trip. The kids, DS15, DS10 and DD8 love exploring and we all enjoy riding our bikes. We always find new things to do at Fort Wilderness every trip. I can't speak for everyone, but as for our family, we LOVE FW!!:earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

We just got back from a 2 week stay at FW. We drove down from VT (4 adults and 4 children) and stayed in our 30 ft travel trailer. We stayed in the 100 loop which is close to the marina and settlement. We like this loop because we can take any bus to the outpost or settlement and never seem to have to wait. unless we are going to AK or MGM we never have to fold our double stroller. It is also an easy walk to the meadows area (pool and campfire program). We had a great trip and I plan to post a trip report in the very near future. The only complaint that we have about the campground is the critters. You can not leave out any type of food as the critters get into everything. We had a ziplock back with snacks and a tupperware type container with powdered drink mix in a mesh backpack in our stroller under the awning. Something ate through the backpack and ziplock bag, ate all of the food and even carried the tupperware container off into the woods (very hard to retrieve). As long as you pick up everything outside you will not have a problem. No bugs (the biting variety) to speak of although we did have some giant spiders hanging out around the trailer. If you have any specific questions I would be happy to answer them. This was our third trip to FW (campsites) in the past 4 years and it is our favorite campground anywhere, hands down.

I appreciate all your responses! And it sounds as if you've all had a great time!

I read Van's trip report, and it was just what I was looking for.

Hubby is weakening! And soon another trip might be in the works!

Thanks again!:wave2:
