As we think about maybe doing a trip report it occurred to me to come ask you guys - what you like to see in a trip report.
Lots of pics, lots of details about the ship/activities, what do you love to find in a trip report?

To me, yes, I like the personal approach not just dry facts, but I skip certain trip reports because the writing style is all over the place. Usually trip reports written as if someone is telling the story at a family gathering, full of in-jokes and an overload of GIFs. A good trip report, to me, keeps in mind that the reader wasn't there and doesn't know you. I also appreciate a good balance between pictures and text.

I work in the travel industry, I have a soft spot for travel days. I love reading how people organize themselves (or not) while travelling.

I appreciate details of the ship activities and excursions -- those are useful for planning my own future trips.

This link below is to the absolute best trip report I have ever read. He writes beautifully, creates a wonderful "picture"....makes you eager to read the next installment.

That's my absolute favorite too. I remember being in awe reading that…he writes so well. Sadly, he kind of disappeared after that which is unfortunate because I would read anything he wants to write about.

Personally, I tend to like trip reports with lots of pictures…and I like the pictures to be medium-large. My eye-sight isn't what it used to be and I find the small pictures hard to see and will tend to skim by them.

I also like to see the writer in some of the pics. Some people stay anonymous and I find it hard to connect to that.

Lastly, I love when I come across descriptions of experiences that I have not yet experienced. I cannot tell you how many times I have read about something here that had never occurred to me before and then I have gone out and tried it myself with great success.

I like pictures and detailed descriptions of what you liked and didn't like. The more details, the more I feel like I am there being part of it.

I just completed my third trip report. I write them because they are virtual scrapbooks for us. We enjoy re-reading over and over to re-live our cruises. So I'd suggest writing what you would like to read. :)
That being said, I do read trip reports before we go and I like a mix of photos and commentary, and learning new things about locations or excursions.

I am a very large woman, and we're taking our fourth Disney cruise in May.

I have been pondering for some time writing a trip report from the perspective of a person of larger size. It would require a great deal of vulnerability on my part, but I have often wished that I had something like that in my resources as I prepared for cruising, and if people would find such a thing valuable, I would seriously consider it.

Are there folks out there that would be interested in a trip report from this perspective?

I like consistent writing but not huge blocks of text. I also enjoy photos/experiences that are not common. When I read a trip report to gather info for my upcoming trip, I like details of how something was done and pricing.
I love seeing what souvenirs people buy, but not many people share :(

I would be. I enjoy viewing things from other perspectives. It would also be informative for me since I have family that are quite large and I can give them tips to help them have a better trip.

My favorite parts are when there are lots of details and photos about excursions, on-ship upcharge activities and stuff. Helps me get honest opinions before booking the same thing.
