Day 4 - universal studios and IOA

While I won't bore you with details of the rides, I will say that we found the new Harry potter area (diagon alley, knockturn alley and gringotts bank) hugely impressive. What they've done here in a short time looked fantastic, and didn't feel rushed. The gringotts ride was very clever, similar to spiderman/transformers. Kings cross station and the hogwarts express was also so good, and we really enjoyed all of it. Had an hour or so of rain in the afternoon, but I think this freshened things up in general as it has been a bit sticky! It was a long day, we did virtually all of both parks by about 4pm, only stopping to eat at hard rock.

When we got back to our room, we freshened up and had a rest, and decided to go and see fantasmic. We entered Hollywood studios at 7.55pm and rushed to the theatre, and just made it for the start at 8pm. The seats weren't the best - right at the back, but as it meant not queuing and waiting for an hour we were ok with this. It also meant we got a quick exit at the end and beat the rush, so this was a nice end to the day. We were still full up from lunch so at 10pm we grabbed another sundae from the hotel, which was again delicious!

Day 5 - MK and epcot late night live street party

EMH at MK this morning so we were up early. Got all the rides done that we hadn't done on Sunday. We had a FASTPASS for seven dwarves mine train which was good as the wait was 90 minutes. I'm sure if I waited 90 mins for it i would come away disappointed.
By 11 we had done all we wanted to ride wise, so had a mooch in the shops and headed over to downtown. Spent a bit more money here, we're both big excited kids really.
We ate at earl of sandwich. We love this place. The sandwiches are delicious and huge, so it's great value too. We shared two - an original and a buffalo chicken wrap. Both were amazing.
We're currently about to walk to epcot. The late night live starts at 9.45 after the park shuts so we're going to watch illuminations first and then check in for the street party. Will update later about whether it's worth it or not...

Well the late night live street party at Epcot is defo worth it, in my opinion. I'd highly recommend it.

Loud music, performers out in the streets, and we each get a card with six tokens on you can snap off and redeem for food or drink at the booths. One of the six tokens is for a limited cocktail in a souvenir glowtini glass.

So there's three separate areas for music. A backstage area with a swing band. A techno dj by the Canada live music stage and finally a live guitarist by le cellier. All very different options. The guitarist was our fave. He was awesome. Did classic rock and also country hits. Then there are six kiosks that remain open and you can choose what you want to eat. I'd go again next year, and for me it now doesn't seem overpriced. We ended the night by getting some desserts and champagne and sitting in the inside area watching the swing band. Sooooo good.

It started busy but by midnight it quietened right down, and we walked back to the hotel through a virtually empty Epcot world showcase and boardwalk. It was a lovely end to a great evening.

Sounds like one of those night you'll always remember and it will always want to make you go back the magic of Disney

Just catching up. September/October is a lovely time to visit and so much more pleasant than July when we have to go (I'm a teacher in Scotland). Reckon this (and March/April) will be our time of choice to visit once I retire. Holiday looks amazing so far. Well done for keeping up the report and photos.
