We got to the terminal early and were in awe when we saw the ship. We were one of the first 50 people to board the ship. I cried when our names were announced! We went to Beach Blanket Buffet and ate outside by the pool. I know alot of people on these boards stress eating at Parrot Cay on embarkation day,. but we personally enjoyed the buffet and were happy to be outside eating at the pools while the kids played IN the pools. It was a beautiful sunny day. I than headed up to register the kids in the clubs and to make my spa treatments. Dinner that night was in Animator's Palate...it was ok. I don't know what I expected...but I guess the build up of everyone's reviews of the walls turning colors, sort of ruined it for me, because I expected more and was left somewhat disapponited. But the dinner was good...I had the BEST soup that I have eaten in my life "Butternut Squash soup". Our servers were Agus and Anna. Agus did his first of many magic tricks that night for the kids...and they loved it! That night we took the kids to the Kids Clubs for a bit while my husband and I explored the ship more. Later that night, my daughter and I went to the Mother/daughter dance while the boys went back to sleep!
Nassau Day- We did the Blue lagoon Beach day and enjoyed it. We snorkeled and played in the water. Lunch at the Sea Grill on the island was nice. That night our dinner was at Parrot Cay. the kids spent the night in the Kids Clubs while we enjoyed our adult nightlife!
Castaway Cay-BEAUTIFUL! Now I understnad why everyone raves about this island....we could have stayed for days! We snorkeled with the kids, the kids took bike rides with the grandparents, and we enjoyed the buffet on the island. That nights dinner was the Pirate theme and we really enjoyed it. We went to see Golden Mickey's and the kids enjoyed it, however my daughter was very mad....she yelled in the hallway later to my husband "Dad, I am mad! Ariel is my favorite character and there was NO Ariel in that show!"
Day at Sea- Aaahhhh.....me, alone, relaxing in the spa! had a wonderful massage and facial! than I went up to the adult pool with my husband to lay out. The kids participated in the graduation ceremony....where did all those kids come from? It didn't seem like that many on the ship at all!!!! (but my husband did say that while I was in the spa, and he had the kids in the family pool...that it was totally WAY too crowded!!!!!) Dinner that night was in Tritons and it was nice. Our meals were always made fun by Anna and Agus...they were wonderful to the kids! that nights show was "Disney Dreams". When the part came on that had the Little Mermaid, my daughter raised her arms up and bowed like in submission...that sort of "We're not worhty" type of bow. People around us were hysterical...we had them telling us that they enjoyed watching HER more than the show!
the next day was disembarkation and while sad, we still were happy because we were on our way to Disney World for the next three nights! My son and husband made a friendly bet that when the cruise was over, my son wouldn't want to leave. My son was adament that he wouldn't feel that way. When ready to disembark, my DS7 looks up at my husband and said, unprovoked, "Dad....you won the bet."
Best advice that I received from this board:
1) Having the kids wear bathing suits under their clothes and board early, so that you can take advantage of the uncrowded pools. The kids Loved this!
2) Over the door shoe hanger.....it was great!
I did bring along an extension cord, but found no need to use it.
I have to say that the trip was wonderful.....the weather was absolutely amazing so I am sure that helped to make this an amazing trip!
