Just arrived home from the 7 day Land and sea. Being from California, we must admit we were not impressed with Disney World. Epcot was pretty. MGM a fun time. (loved the tower of terror) the animal park...a disaster. Rides shut down, park much too spread out, and not alot of animals out to see.
Our hotel, Disneys Beach Club...was beautiful. Had great service, and enjoyed our time there. Our room was much too far from the lobby though, so we would definitely ask for a room closer to the lobby. Food was good, yet expensive. Cape May was delightful and had incredible service. The kids club was wonderful. Our DD was missing playing with kids, so we checked her in for one night and went and had dinner at Planet Hollywood. We paid 10.00 an hour for childcare and she had alot of fun at the Sandcastle Club.

4 DAY WONDER CRUISE~
As far as the cruise went, we cannot say enough about the kids clubs couselors. They do an amazing job and are so well organized. Our DD would not "play" with us the entire 4 days! We begged her to eat dinner with us, but she wouldn't after the first night.
Now, if your an adult in your 30's and longing for fun, as we were...I cannot say DCL was it for us. Wavebands is okay, but not our music style. The lounge was dark and drab. No life there at all. DCL definitely needs a casino on board.
The food was good, but not what we dreamed of. Parrot Cay was good. I suggest the rib eye...very tender!
Animators palate was horrible. Everyone at our table had incredibly tough steak and yucky dessert... but I have to say the shrimp and lobster wrapper appetizer was a stand out thumbs up. It was the only thing we enjoyed there.
Tritons we missed to go to the spa!!! The spa was one of my best experiences ever!! The BEST massage I have ever been given. Sara from Sweden I highly reccommend. Very clean and smells so inviting in there. Your relaxed from the minute you walk in!
The SEAFOOD buffet in Beach Blanket Buffet on the 4th day of the cruise is NOT TO MISS...if you love seafood. We ate like pigs! We enjoyed everything there including the crab claws, peel and eat shrimp, and the bay shrimp cocktail was incredible.

Room service was excellent! They are fast and efficient and we used it everynight for late night snacks! As others have said, the cheese tray is amazing. I ordered it everynight and enjoyed it all to myself!! The cakes are different each day and were all delicious!
NASSAU~ we enjoyed the experience. We paid 12.00 to take a ferry over to Atlantis, went to the public beach and enjoyed some sun and sand. It was beautiful. We walked though Atlantis and gambled alittle and went back to the ship and enjoyed the quiet of the pool.
CASTAWAY CAY~The highlight of our cruise! IT IS GEORGOUS!!! The most beautiful place I have been. Serenity Bay is a slice of heaven. If you can get your kids to stay in the clubs, definitely go to the adult island! It's magical.

DCL transfers...I wouldn't do again. We paid far too much for what we got. We definitely will handle our own transfers and our own flights! A red eye with a 5 year old is a BIG mistake. She was so tired she fell asleep at 5:00pm in a 4 start restaurant in Florida! She was literally chewing her steak and falling asleep!

Our room steward was incredible...He left the custest towel animals each night and made us laugh out loud on several occassions. He was our favorite guy, including our food server, Christian from Peru. He was nice as well.

All in all, a wonderful, relaxing time. We enjoyed our first cruise experience. We will definitely cruise next year, but probably not on Disney. DH and I just needed more "nightlife." We also needed more seafood!!

Great post. My husband and I were just talking about all of this last night. If it wasn't for the kids, we wouldn't even consider Disney again. We went on Carnival and the food was better and there was so much more to do for adults. Also, we had really great waiters on our Carnival and Disney's just didn't match up. For that much more money, I think DCL should be tops in everything. Next time we'll try RCCL. I don't think anybody can beat the kids' club on DCL or Castaway Cay. Those "made" the cruise for us. Their shows were incredible, too. Very enjoyable for the entire family.

Thanks for your report. We were at Atlantis/DCL in '02. We went on the DCL beach excursion to Atlantis. Where is the public beach in relationship to the hotel?

Thanks.
