This trip was supposed to be 4 nights at BWV in a preferred view studio. Reservation stated pool/water view.

We were all excited because we had never stayed here.
Well, my mom who lives not to far from WDW wanted us to stay with her one night and we figured cool, we'll save some points.
Uhhmmm, how bout we stay two nights at mom's and save even more points?
We could just drive back to her house after a day at WDW. BIG Mistake. Traffic was real bad on 192, both arriving and leaving. The drive back was longer than I ever remembered it. Way too long!

Okay so ready to check into BW. I had nightmares that since we dropped the first two nights we would get a bad room.

Checked in at 12:30, room is ready, COOL
room 2053. DH said you were right bad room, not very high up.
We were very pleased with the room and location. Or so we thought!
Room was second floor almost over the gallery. In the courtyard behind where you rent the bikes. Could see ESPN and somewhat of the boardwalk. Headed to Epcot but left before fireworks, kids were tired so was mom and dad.

This is not a room I would ever want again. There is no soundproofing in the doors AT ALL. I was worried about the noise at SSR. Never thought about it here.

We could hear every person walking by. And every cart that went to and fro on the boardwalk came right under our room with the brick pathway, sounded light thunder ALL night. When the very happy people i.e. loud and drunk came back to their room at 2 am. We knew it. The noise from the hallways was loud too.
None of us slept very good AT ALL

We had our fill of Boardwalk and it's not for us. Although walking back from Illuminations is really nice! The girls liked the pool too.

Added a night at SSR, 1 bed, so the points we saved, oh well. We definetely needed the down time here.

When the CM checking you in says "your room is not quite ready" I think to myself, great maybe in an hour, then we can nap and head to MK.

What he should have said is "Check in is not until 4pm, don't count on it till then"
Called at 2 and was put on hold. Carpet is wet, won't be ready at least till 3. Not ready at 3, ready at you guessed it 4.

We played ping pong, kids drew pictures, swam for a bit. Walked over and had a sandwhich at the Earl.

Got to room, great view, I love the decor here. And the room is very sound proof. The doors weigh a ton to the patio. (Need these at BW) Carpet wet was an understatement. It was soaked and walking from the carpet to tile was so slippery is was dangerous. By morning is was dry. So whoever checked in after us had clean carpet and probably a room that was ready early. We were barely in the room at all. Wished we could have stayed another night.

Took a nap at 4:30, got to MK at about 7:30. It was the best night we have ever spent. Considering it was so crowded all week and we were happy knowing that we may not get to see and do alot, we'll be back no rush.

MK open till 1 am on 12/30 an early New Years Celebration.
We got to see Spectro, Wishes, rode on Haunted Mansion, COP, all three mountains, Space, Splash and Thunder :o) Buzzlightyear, Philharmagic
and got to see the special fireworks at midnight. Kids did great and we all had a blast.

Earlier in the week ever park was so crowded. So this was a treat we needed.

I will stay at SSR again. When resort is finished the main pool will be 5 times too small. I may never get the view we had again but oh well.
We have now stayed at all 5 WDW DVC resorts. We own at VWL and love it there but OKW is our favorite so far.

Ate at LaCellier and Crystal Palace. both excellent! :flower1: :flower1:

Glad you had a nice time! We only spent 1 night at SSR, and didn't have DTD view, but we liked the pool that faced DTD and the walk to DTD was very pleasant.

I think VWL is our favorite. We've also stayed on all the WDW properties, but when we were traveling around the resorts with our guests admiring the Christmas decorations, it was the VWL tha made me the happiest to show as our "home."

Bobbi :D

Sorry you had problems with noise at BWV. We have never had a problem with noise there but we have never been in that location either.

The only problems we have ever had with noise at DVC were in studios at OKW and VB. They were not dedicated studios and the noise was really bad.
