Hey skminnie's mom. Nice to hear from you. I was so sick of those jokes of DS 's by the end of the cruise!!! I heard them over and over and over........I think your on to something about him being on stage one day. Maybe he will be a future comedian on the Disney Magic. I hear ya about can't wait to book again. We are going to look into the summer of 2008. Hope all is well and keep in touch. :wave2:

Day 6 - Fun day at Sea

Honestly I can't remember all too much of this day. Let's see if I can re-live it some.

I do remember I was up bright an early. I can't believe I was since Pirate Night was the night before. Everyone else was asleep so I headed up to Deck 9 and got a cup a tea. I also went into Topsiders and grabbed myself a bagel and cream cheese. I went back to our room and sat on our balcony and just enjoyed the peace. I love sitting out there on sea days. It's so peaceful. Everyone else finally woke up at 9:00am. They went up to Topsiders for breakfast while I showered and got dressed. After they were done with breakfast DS wanted to go to the lab. So off we went to sign him in. DH, DD and I just wondered around the ship. We tried to get DD to go to the club but she had no interest. DD decided she wanted to go swimming. So we headed back to the Lab to see if DS wanted to swim. He did so off to change and hit the Mickey Pool. I sat on the edge of the pool to keep an eye on them while DH went off somewhere to hide and read his book. The kids swam for about 2 hours or so and they decided they were hungry. DD wanted Pizza and DS wanted a hamburger. So off to Pluto's and Pinocchios. We grab some food and the kids wanted to go back to the room to watch a movie and eat their lunch. That was fine by me. While they ate they watch Disney and then they both slowly dosed off for a nap. Yeah!!! I grabbed a magazine and sat out on the balcony.

I noticed in the Navigator that Disney Dreams was playing in the theatre at 3:00pm. I started to do some packing and then woke up the kids. We headed down to the theatre and enjoyed the wonderful show. This has to be my favorite show. It actually made me shed some tears. If any show do not miss this one.

After the show it was time once again to get ready for dinner. It was semi-formal night. I wanted to take a shot at some more photos since DD didn't cooperate on formal night. We all got dressed up once again and we went down to the Atrium. There was one photographer that was great. I really wish I got his name. He got a GREAT picture of DD & DS. I was sooooo happy!!!! We did several photo ops and of course I bought just about everyone.

I remember what we had this night. It was LOBSTER NIGHT!! It was delicious. I only had one to my surprise.

After dinner we went back to our cabin and changed. I did some more packing. Just a quick tip. I found it alot easier to get most of the packing done on Thursday night. This way on Friday I can enjoy my day and evening and not stress over having to pack.

We saw some more opportunties to have photos with characters so off we went. DS wanted to go back into the lab. DH brought him while I brought DD to see Daisy and Donald. While in line for Donald we ran into a family we spent some time with in Cozumel. They wanted to see if our DD would like to go into the kids club with their DD for "Finding Tinkerbell". Both girls seem really excited about it until we walked through the kids club door. Oh well we tried. We figured if they had a friend they would be more willing to go. Not the case.

It was getting late and it was time for our night time swim. DH picked DS up from the Lab and met DD and I at the Mickey pool. It was my time to escape for a little while. I headed over to Cove Cafe for some carmel coffee. My intention was to get it and go. I ended up staying awhile and chatting with some folks. Mommy needed a little down time. Went back to the Mickey Pool and gathered my family. Off to bed we went. Tomorrow is Castaway Cay. I was thrilled to be going back since the last time we were there we had thunderstorms.

Day 7 - Castaway Cay

I can't believe today is our last day. I was so excited when I woke up knowing we were so close to Castaway Cay. Everyone was still asleep. Yeah for me. I went out onto the verandah and what did I see, big, dark clouds!! Oh no, not this again. I kept telling myself it's going to blow over. I headed up to Topsiders and grabbed a bagel and I tea and heading back upstairs. Went out on the verandah and watched us dock. Next thing I knew the rain came. O.K. I'm not going to let a little rain spoil my day. I see no lightning and hear no thunder. We are going to the beach!!!
I woke everyone up. Let's go we are here. As they had breakfast and got ready I watched people get off the ship. They were passing out ponchos to everyone who left the ship.

We headed down to the gangway. It was crowded with people because they were all trying to put on their ponchos. Finally made it off. Saw the Flying Dutchman. What a wonderful sight. Stop for a few photos ops on the way to the Family Beach. Oh and we did a little shopping too. We needed to get our Castaway Cay pins. Already, we finally settle on the beach. The kids and hubby went right into the water. I stayed under the umbrella for awhile just happy to be here. Rain or no rain nothing was going to ruin this day. The kids started to make a sand castle with Noahsmom, her DS and another girl. DD loved making the sandcastle. She is the type that can spend hours on one project. DS on the other hand was back in the water.

I can now smell the food from cookies. It was lunch time. I gathered up the family and we headed off for lunch. We ran into BTSEN5 and her family. They joined us for lunch. They decided to join us on the beach after BTSEN5 did a little shopping. I was sitting in a chair at the edge of the water and BTSEN5 surprised me with a Konk Cooler. WOW, now that's a drink!!! Loved it. Thanks BTSEN5!! We ended up sitting there for hours just talking. Joinda3 also joined us for a bit and we chatted with her too. Noahsmom returned and was busy with the sandcastle again. The kids played in the water waiting patiently for the water tower thingy to open. They had to wait for the water to reach 5 feet in that area. My DH stayed in the water all day as well. BTSEN5's hubby was off snorkeling. I mentioned a few times that I should put sunscreen on the kids. I never got around to it because it was just so cloudy. (the rain did stop) I should have known better being from Florida and all. When in made it back to the ship and the kids took their showers I noticed they were a little pink. OK, not too bad thank goodness. My DH on the other hand was fried!!! Poor guy.

Everyone got ready for dinner. My husband and kids watched us pull away from Castaway Cay and the crew that stays there was waving goodbye with the big white Mickey hands.

Dinner tonight was back in Animators Palate. This night we had a cake for DD & DS for their birthdays. DD was turning 4 on Saturday and DS was turning 9 a week later. Our servers brought out two cakes one for each and sang them happy birthday. The servers feed each of the kids a bite of cake and smeared frosting on their little noses. Too cute. It was time to say goodbye to our wait staff. DD was so attached to the assistant server that tears came to her eyes. She made us all well up a bit. She told him that he could come live with us that we had a spare room or he could have her room. Too sweet. Anyway, we finally made it out of the dining room and it was time to finish packing.

Thank goodness I did most of the packing yesterday. We just had to tie up a few loose ends. Luggage was out by 9:00pm. Oh no, we missed the Farewell Show. Where did the time go?

We went up to Shutters to see if we wanted to purchase any more photos. Of course we did. I bought so many photos. I have no idea what I was thinking. Oh well. The kids are only this age once.

The kids wanted one last swim in the pool. We let them swim and then it was off to bed. They fell asleep very quickly. My on the other hand couldn't sleep. Back on the verandah I went. I was happy and sad at the same time. Happy that I had a wonderful vacation and sad that it was just about over. I finally climbed into bed trying not to think about getting off the ship in the morning.

I will do my best to finish up tomorrow with more photos. It's off to bed now. Early day tomorrow. The kids go back to school. Yes it's only August 3rd, but we start early here in Florida!

Well the day arrived. It was time to get up and leave the Magic behind. The kids did not want to get up. I had to peel them out of bed. DH was still hiding under the covers too. By this morning we are so sick of the food we skip breakfast on the ship and grab something on the way home. Our usually experience is that we can leave the ship at 8:00am. So once everyone was ready we gathered our carryons and headed down.

We went to exit the Aft elevators on deck 3 and could not believe our eyes. There was a line! What? Why is this happening? Usually we just walked right off. Not this time. In line we went. It wasn't until 8:15 or so that immigration finally gave the ok to let us debark. It took us about 45 minutes to get through the line, grab a porter and go through customs.

Our ride home was uneventful just like the drive over.

We are going to try and plan another trip on the Magic in the Summer of 2008. I took home alot of memories from our trip that I will cherish forever. I met alot of wonderful people whom I chatted with on these boards. Even though it was sad to leave the Magic it was nice to finally pull up in our driveway. Home Sweet Home.

I wanted to also thank everyone for the wonderful tips! It made our journey all that more special.

Thanks for posting the pictures. They are so nice. I loved the Savannah with the Pirate menu. That is too cool.

The sunset one is so beautiful. You know, I never did get a shot of the sunset. I was so disappointed in myself, but it seemed like we were always doing something else. One night when there was a beautiful sunset that we actually saw, I did not have my camera. Oh, come to think of it, I looked back at the picture and that is the exact sunset we saw. I remember that ship's silhouette. Now I am really bummed.

Makes me want to go on a Disney Cruise again!

At least I can go back to my blog and recall the wonderful time we had!

I understand completely! I've been home almost a month and I'm already to go back. Unfortunately with the Magic doing the Med. next summer we will be waiting to 2008. We've done the Wonder before but I really enjoy 7 nights. 3 & 4 nights are just too short.

Thank you for taking so much time writting such a wonderful trip report. I love all of your photos.

Thanks! It was fun writing and re-living our adventure. I sure wish we were leaving for another cruise like now!! LOL LOL

Great trip report! We are from Tampa also heading out on the Magic 9/24 with DD9. I had questions about how long it would take us to get to the port from Tampa and what to do when we get there but you answered everything!

Thanks Sillykidsmom for all the info.

Thanks for all the kind words. Wow, it's been a long time since I've been on these boards. August was such a crazy month. Things are calming down so it's time to catch up on everyone else's trip reports. How I wish I was on a cruise right now.

thank you for the fantastic report and photos. what kind of camera do you have. they are suitable for framing. your daughter at the port hole is priceless, like she is saying good bye to the ocean.

Great report! I love that picture of your daughter onstage during Golden MIckeys!

Thanks! My camera is the Sony Cybershot DCS-W70. I love it! Several people who I talked to prior to our cruise had or just purchased this camera. It was hard for me to purchase because I already have the Canon Digital Rebel which is awesome. I really wanted something small, compact and took comparable pictures to my Rebel. I do have to say I made a great choice!!

I love the photo of your DD looking out of the large porthole window. Where was this taken on the ship?

I'm not sure where this particular photo was taken on the ship, but there are plenty of portholes to get this photo op. I saw this photo on some other thread and absolutly loved it. I wanted both my daughter and son in the picture. I was lucky enough to get my daughter to do it!
