This is letter we sent to Disney after our latest trip
We spent our 2nd Christmas vacation at Disneyworld a few weeks ago, December 8th-14th.

This is the 2nd time we have spent a week at one of the good neighborhood hotels, Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace Disney Springs Area. A few years ago, we started staying here before we cruise so that we can walk over to Disney Springs and shop and eat. We are very pleased that Disney has added more benefits to staying at this hotel and have even added it to the app so we can link our hotel reservations. We like to use this hotel because we usually have points and gold status so we get meals, parking and other perks that we can’t get at Disney anymore. We do plan on staying at either Boardwalk or Wilderness lodge when we come back for our anniversary week in June next year.

We were able to go to Jollywood Nights on December 11th. We are very happy that they decided to start serving the food early at 7 instead of waiting for the party to officially start. There needs to be more do for the guests that arrive early other than stand in line for the 1 store selling the event merchandise. The special photos even had to wait until late to start even though there were photographers there. There are only 2 things I’d change; more things need to start around 7 or earlier if you have the event wristband, and they need more than 1 place to buy the event exclusive merchandise.

Sunday – Disney Springs and Jaleo. Guest Services at the ticket counter were very helpful. I was hoping to mention the CM that processed our AP purchase and made sure we had the next few days booked for park reservations, but her name is not on the receipt. We had her walk us through a Cast Compliment. I hope it went through ok for her. We also want to let you know that the photo pass spot in Disney Springs is a must do every visit for us. For the last 3-4 years we have stopped at Jaleo on our 1st day. As long as our favorite server stays there we’ll keep going. On this trip the Manager MJ told us to let him know when anytime we wanted reservations, and he’d make sure we got in and Winnie would be our server.

Monday, we started the day at Magic Kingdom and park hopped to Epcot. At the Magic Kingdom we love getting the special shots for season like the Snowman Mickey and Minney up front and the Christmas tree. We miss the Tinkerbell meet and great but we’ve taken Maribel’s advice and we’ve been trying to get all the other bell’s and we have added her to our shirt picture. She is our favorite meet and greet, we even went back on Thursday to get selfies with her, and we brought her a magnet this year that she seemed to enjoy. We’d love it if someone who’s friends with her in the cast could reach out to her and let her know how much we enjoyed bringing her the magnet. The other great thing we experienced Monday was Tianna Bayou Adventure. We were able to get on the Virtual Que for the afternoon wave. We started talking to one of the cast members, Icy about our Maribel shirts we were wearing and she explained to us that it would be fine to go out to Epcot, eat and comeback after our number comes up. A few of the other cast members came up and talked because Icy was going on break when she came back and told us that the ride was just getting ready to start back up and offered to walk us up the front of the line. We were able to ride in the 1st seat and we had a lot of fun. There’s so much to look at in the queue and during the ride. It’s probably our favorite ride at the Magic Kingdom.

At Epcot we went for the festival of holidays our favorite snack of the festival was the Frozen Cake Pop. The whole team at this booth was fun. This year we completed the cookie stroll but we didn’t make the time for the Olaf game or to go listen to the countries talking about how they celebrate the holidays.

Tuesday – Animal Kingdom, we made a point of checking out Santulli Canteen for breakfast. We’ve eaten here 2 times now and it’s becoming a favorite. We went to the animal kingdom for one of our favorite rides, Expedition Everest, and we did the Mickey and Minnie in Hollyday clothes, Moana and Pocahantas. – since we wanted to check out Boardwalk decorations and go to Epcot from the International gateway, we went to Hollywood Studios and took the boat over to Boardwalk and then Epcot

We went to 1900 Park Fare for Dinner on December 12th. The parking lot that you have to use for this event needs to be advertised and posted much better. You can’t see the signs at dusk and since we got stuck in construction traffic around the hotel, we felt very rushed looking for a place to park so far away from the hotel. The guard didn’t say that there was a shuttle or ride to the hotel. We want to thank Hailey from bell services for the ride to the main building. She made sure that we had a ride back to our car. We really enjoyed dinner it was as good or better than Breakfast. We would have it again. Our server Chelsea was wonderful, she made sure we had our drinks and answered all our questions and made sure my wife had the allergy menu and knew what was ok for her to eat. This is a good meal even if there weren’t characters. We got to meet everyone right away and when we let our server know we had little gift magnets for them we were able to have them come back and say hi again. We would do this again, but we would want to go from Magic Kingdom and either walk or take the boat over. We would not drive over for dinner again.

Thursday – Epcot-Magic Kingdom – the big thank you to Cinderella’s stepsisters Annastasia and Drizella. They officially made it on our selfie’s shirt. Please pass a big thank you out to both of them and their friends there. It would be great to have a Photo pass photographer out with them. The Cast Member that helps take pictures with our phone or camera is great, but I think this is still an underappreciated moment at the park. This was the day we met the real Santa and he is always worth the wait.

Friday – Epcot we got to get a great picture with Belle in her Christmas dress and us in our Tinkerbell shirt. I wish I could remember the photographer’s name so I could give them an official compliment.

This was the first trip that we actively tried to submit compliments when we ran across someone really doing their best to help us or another person. It really is time consuming and there is still only a canned reason. There needs to be a blank or other comment and maybe a way to request a survey. We completed every survey that Disney Destinations team

As far as we can tell Tinkerbell was on 1 float in a Magic Kingdom parade and then a few small Magic Shots. She needs her own Meet and greet back at least 1 of the parks and if she is going to just be on the Magic Shot, she needs to be larger on the picture. We’ve only had 1 picture where she was big enough to show up printed on a magnet.

Thanks to all the Cast Members that we met"
Now on Thursday Dec 12th in the afternoon at Magic Kingdom Maribel asked us if we could organize a shirt for her for next time. We'd love to be able to reach out to her friends over at photo pass or the regular CMs and surprise her with our family shirt if she really meant it. I included picture her of both the Meet and greets we went to the one on 12/9 and 12/12. If someone knows how to reach out anyone that worked at Magic Kingdom that day and let her know that she can reach out to us anytime and we'd be happy to bring her one when we go out in June.

It’s great to hear how much thought you put into complimenting the Cast Members, it really makes their hard work feel appreciated. Your detailed feedback about Jollywood Nights and the other events will surely help Disney improve.

As for reaching out to Maribel or her friends, you might try contacting Disney Guest Relations directly, they sometimes help connect guests with Cast Members for follow-ups like this. It would be such a sweet surprise to bring her that shirt in June!
