Our plane was set to take off from Detroit at 7:40am. We are about an hour from the airport, so to give us plenty of time to park the car, get the bags out, ect, ect, I wanted to leave the house at 4:30am so I set my alarm clock for 3:45 am. That didn't work out that well. I got up at 4:15am. Can't blame myself since I didn't go to bed until 1am. I know I shouldnt have, but I couldnt take it anymore. So, as I was packing up the last few items, dh was in the shower and I finished getting dressed. Got the kids up and dressed and gave them some milk, put them in the car and we were leaving only 15 minutes behind schedule, so as I was locking up the deadbolt to the door, my friggin key got stuck in it and it was not budging, ok, so now we are really running behind. Finally after digging the tools out, we got on the road to the airport about 5am. No traffic, made the plane on time, kids didn't sleep, I didn't sleep, but DH slept, go figure. Landed in Orlando about 10am.
We did use the Magical Express service, but we got our own luggage because of a previous incident we had a few years back were we didn't recieve 1 of the bags for a day. But anyway, bus ride was great, we were all excited and Kristen even fell asleep for about 10 minutes. To tell the truth, I kinda felt kinda rich heading into the moderate line for magical express while the value resort line was wrapped around and we were the 1st ones in line for the Fort. Kenny called me while we were on the bus confirming our time for a 1pm pick up.
Got to the fort around 11:30 -12pm. I saw the sign and was gonna take a pic but the camera was down in the gally of the bus, so no pics of the sign. Got to the check in area and saw the beautiful garden they have in front. There was a hummingbird right in front of us, and believe it or not, I have never seen one before. I knew at that point this was the place for me!!!
So we checked in, I didn't use express, and I had no wait at all. I originally requested the 2200 or 2300 loop but there were no cabins available yet cuz it was around noon, but she said we could go to the 2700 loop and we could have a cabin now, so I said alrighty, I'm game, so the van took us to lucky #2735.
The week or so before is when all the rain hit Florida, so I wasn't sure if all this water around the cabin was normal or not.
And it looked like our cabin was falling apart just a little. I guess they didn't put enough staples in the lattice to hold it up.
So after I unpacked, got the kids settled (not). Way to much energy for being up at 4:30 in the am. I hung up my green ears on the outside of our cabin.
So now it was time to figure out how to get to the overflow lot to meet Kenny. I swear I am so happy that I got a cart. All I had to do was walk to the bus stop, wait about ten minutes and hop out at the outpost, but that seemed like forever!!! So I got to Kenny, what a wonderful man, got the cart, he had me drive it and showed me how to charge it, blah, blah, blah, and away I go!!!!! Back to the cabin to put my green ears on the cart, oh yeah, then it started raining. We did looping anyways, thanks to the rain gear on the cart, and went to scope out the fort.
More to come. Good nite.
