Me (32 - 3rd trip to DLRP)
DH (34 - 1st trip to DLRP)
DD (4 and disabled - 1st trip to anywhere Disney)
DH is not feeling well - he has a cold, but puts on a brave face and we arrive on Eurostar at 1.30pm. We go straight to the hotel - Sequoia Lodge - to check in and there are Minnie and Pluto in reception! DD is not sure at first, and doesn't want to touch them, but eventually waves, blows kisses and shouts 'Hello' and 'Bye' at them.
The room isn't ready, so we leave our luggage and go to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch. DD isn't sure at first, but we have a walk around and sit down and she enjoys it in the end. She covers her ears when the thunder starts and when the elephants are being noisy, but she doesn't get upset, and thinks the elephants are quite funny! The food is good, I have a veggie burger, DD has a cheese and ham sandwich (the first of many on this trip), and DH has a burger.
After lunch we go to the park and get a blue disability card for DD with no problems at all and head off for the teacups first as per DDs request. There is hardly any queue and DD enjoys it (with her hands over her ears). Next we go on Small, Small World - again with no queue - and DD also enjoys this (with her hands over her ears!). We decide to go on the Fairytale boat ride as it is quiet, and we use the disabled entrance rather than go up and down the stairs which makes it nice and easy and they stop the boats so we can lift DD on. She likes this ride too, and doesn't cover her ears - hooray!
Next we do a complete circuit on the Disneyland Railroad from Fantasyland, but by now DH is starting to feel very poorly so we go back to the hotel via the Deli on Main Street to get sandwiches for dinner.
At the hotel our room in ready, and we are in the main lodge, just a few metres away from the lobby! We have a quick drink in the bar which has a lovely atmosphere and then eat our sandwiches in our room and retire to bed (at about 7pm!)
