Day 4 - DLRP - Friday July 28th 2006

The last day - sob :sad1:

We packed all our stuff and there was so much extra I had to go to the Cheyenne shop and buy a bag - the big one with wheels! We filled that, no problems! We also wrote and sent our postcards which we'd bought on the second day. Breakfast was 8.30am again and we had our bags in the luggage place by just before 9am. We strolled down to Disney Village and the sun was out again - Lake Disney looked so peaceful and the sky was deep blue - there really is no better place on Earth.

We entered the park and I looked down at the tickets - 4 holes, that means it's our last day - so sad, but that doesn't last long as you can't be sad in DLRP, even on your last day. I hadn't taken any photos of the castle yet and as it was a gorgeous day I took a few - some not unlike the front cover of From Sketch to Reality. This is just one of the photos...

Our first ride of the day was Buzz Lightyear: Lazer Blast and the t-shirt challenge was on again, though the 10 minute rule was not in place as we planned to go through the Disney Village shops on the way out later in the day - thus more choice! I didn't do so well, scoring my lowest score of the 3 goes so far - 117,900. Denise too scored badly only getting 19,800 which meant I'd won the 2nd t-shirt challenge. Next was something we always leave till the last day - Les Passage Enchanté d'Aladdin - not the most popular attraction but something we always find really fun to walk around - we love the film and the music and those models are spectacular. Then it was Pirates of the Caribbean twice, making our total for the trip 10 times.

Lunch was again something we always save for the last day - Casey's Corner and the best Hot Dogs in the world. By this time my stomach was pretty well normal again so I splurged and had Hot Dog with cheddar sauce (so nice), chips and coke. We got a table inside which was nice as it was getting pretty hot again outside. That's Denise wearing MY cap by the way!

Frontierland was next and we did Phantom Manor and Tarzan - the latter being quite sad as at the time we believed it to be the last time we would ever see the show. We sat right at the back but in the middle and we had a great view. The guy who played 'Cheeky Monkey' was particularly funny this time round and he stole the show even more than normal.

We strolled through to Fantasyland and after going to see the dragon I posed for a photo trying to pull out The Sword in the Stone - even though I was only posing for the photo I did actually try with all my might to pull out the sword - what a fool!

photo64.jpg

We then went on a ride we don't usually as the queue was short - Snow White and all was going so well until we got stuck! The music carried on and it was the bit with skeletons. In our car were a French couple and their son - there was only this one car stuck in this part of the ride. I thought I may as well make the most of the stoppage and take photos as the ride is usually too fast to get focused on anything, so this is us..stationary...

photo70.jpg

We've been stuck in the Pinocchio ride before but not for this long - it must have been 10 minutes when the music finally stopped, and then came some announcements in French which I didn't catch but made the French family laugh. A cast member came round and spoke English for us - ride had malfunctioned (no, really?) and they were working on it and could we stay put. So, there we sat and waited, and waited, and waited...the next photo had us looking a bit different to the previous one...

photo71.jpg

After 20 minutes or so the ride started again and we couldn't wait to get out - fresh air we love you! So, where next? Buzz Lightyear: Lazer Blast of course and the 3rd and last (for this trip) T-Shirt challenge. Denise scored 44,600 (she's consistent you have to give her that) and I scored 436,900 which I was quite chuffed with but it didn't come close to my 628,000 from the day before. Still, that meant 2 t-shirts I had to buy later!

It was getting to about 3pm so we decided to say goodbye to Disneyland Park and head for Disney Village. I bought my 2 t-shirts a grey one with Mickey across the front in the fab way they do it with various Mickey body parts, well gloves and boots etc.. The other one is a fab long sleeved black t-shirt with Limited Edition and Since 1992 written on it with a photo of Cafe Mickey which had an orange colour mask - awesome! We bought lots more too but far too much list here!

It was back to the Cheyenne and Denise saw this great sign which we'd never spotted before - think it's new as the bolts and chain looked free of any rust or dirt...

I went to fetch the luggage while Denise grabbed us a table on the decking of the Red Garter Saloon. With an hour or so before we needed to be at the station we had one of the lovely non alcoholic cocktails and took separate trips to the shop to surprise each other with little leaving gifts!

photo84.jpg

When it was time we said goodbye to the Cheyenne and took the bus to the station where we were through passport control and on the train with an hour to spare before the train left! As usual the luggage racks were almost full but I did find room for our cases and extra bag - there were some very small bags in the main luggage rack which is rather irritating given they could fit in the overhead rack with room to spare - some people! Not much to do except take silly photos...

photo86.jpg

The journey was pretty uneventful. We were in coach 15 and Dad was in Coach 1 - we got a text to say they'd tried to come and see us but they go to Coach 11 and someone had been sick so they had to turn back! At the other end we met up with Dad and they gave us our birthday cards and we said our goodbyes, but not before I got Denise to take a photo of Dad and I, something I'd wanted all holiday but not managed...

photo88.jpg

So, Dad left for the Holiday Inn and then Devon and we drove back to Hitchin with a quick toilet stop at South Mimms! We were pretty tired when we got home and a little subdued too it had been a wonderful holiday, in fact the 'the best 4 days of our lives' was something we agreed on. So, that was our summer holiday in Disneyland Resort Paris - our 7th visit and our best yet, just 75 days (just 2 now!) until we will be there in October for the Halloween Season - can't wait! Oh yeah - this was the extra bag of goodies we bought, sitting innocently on the settee in the extension...

Bye!

As we always and only do couple trips, i so understand you that's a great feeling to share the magic with the family, too. I wish i would have that opportunity! My parents or at least friends aren't into DLRP.

So, that was our summer holiday in Disneyland Resort Paris - our 7th visit and our best yet
and
(just 2 now!)
I'm delighted for you :goodvibes

Really nice and funny pics! Tell Denise that she's really pretty. And impressive scores you've had... I think. Though i haven't got a clue what a high score is. Never been on the Buzzride. But you won several shirts, so...Congrats!

Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed your trippie very much! I'm looking forward to your next DLRP-adventure!

So. Enough of the adulation! ;) Only 2 days left!! Wish i could ignore the 1month and 1 week on my ticker...

Fantastic holiday report, really enjoyed reading about each day. We were there 24th July - 29th July this year as well!
