Who: Me (age 39, married, mom to 2 boys)
Benita (age 36, married, no kids)
When: Quick 3 nighter, May 8th - 11th
Where: 1 night WLV studio, 2 nights BCV Studio
I'm a DVC member who's been many times, but Benita has never been. I love showing people the Magic of Disney. We arrived by car, (a 15 hr drive). Got to WLV about 2pm. Checked in. The room was not ready, so we headed on over to the MK. Benita was just enjoying seeing the castle & wanted to get close to it first thing. So she took about a roll of pictures & we headed over to Tomorrowland. We rode Buzzlightyear & Space Mountain. Then we walked over toward Fantasyland, but first stopped to get a bite at Cosmic Rays. We ate light as we had a PS for later at Tony's. I made Benita ride IASW. Then we headed over to Haunted Mansion & Big Thunder Railroad. I was amazed at the nearly no lines at all. We normally go over New Years & Spring Break, so this was just jaw dropping for me. I kept pointing out where the lines usually start for us!
We then got our only fast pass the whole trip. For Splash Mountain. While waiting for our time, we went on POC. We shopped at the shop there & I bought a cute short/top outfit.
By now it was time for Splash Mountain. Yucky, someone had very bad BO in the loading area! Nasty, but luckily they were not in our log.
Next we went to ride Jungle Cruise. I think this was our last ride of the night as the MK closed at 7pm. No fireworks or parades this night.
Dinner was at 7pm at Tony's. We could see out the window & it was fun watching everyone leave the park in huge crowds. We both had the spaghetti, good dinner, I also had the salad, which was so huge that we requested an extra plate & split it. No dessert. Benita is a real people watcher, whereas I'm usually in my own world. She really got into watching the families near us with kids.
By now it was about 8pm & finally time to go check out our room at WLV. The studio was clean, nice. We overlooked the walkway to the lodge. Not a great view, but we only had 1 night, so no big deal. I called down for our luggage to be brought up. Well about 10 min. later I got a call asking if our luggage arrived yet? I said no. Then Bell services asked me to describe it! Ut oh! Benita was gettting nervous about them losing our luggage. I told her it was ok, it was Disney & they would find it! She kept saying she'd be so mad if they lost it. I told her she had no faith in the Disney Magic & she needed some Pixie Dust! :0 Sure enough our luggage arrived safe & sound in a few minutes.
Well we were so tired, but I had to go down to use the hot tub. We only used the quiet pool here. Loved it! Nice & warm! At 9 30 the Electric Water Parade was arriving. I told Benita this was good to see, so she got out of the pool & was telling a little girl where she was going. After the parade, we were walking back to the pool & the same little girl was walking back with her dad & the child was looking strange at Benita. So she started talking to her. The dad said " she is looking at you because we had told her there was no water parade tonight & then you told her there was." He went on to explain they'd been there for a week and basically got tired of seeing the parade, so told their child it was not showing tonight! How mean! Haha, the Dad had to walk her over to the beach after all!
We pretty much head the hay after that. Was a long day, but trying to show someone 4 parks in really only 2 1/2 days will take a much faster pace than I am used to!
