Trip Report for the 10/9 cruise is complete and Part 1 2 and 3 have been posted to the 10/9 Disney Magic Western Caribbean Trip Report

Here is the "Overall Review"
Was the money spent on the vacation worth it? Yes and no. Overall we spent a LOT of money on this vacation (we did have 8 people!)

1. Staterooms, Crew, overall appearance of ship all get an A+ and make the price well worth it.

2. There is a very large gap in activities for the 18-24 age range. Unfortunately they are really ‘out of place’…. Although from what I understand if you are in the lower end of this age group going to the Stack, isn’t out of the question apparently they don’t’ question those who may appear to be within the age group.

3. During the port days there are not many scheduled activities on board.

4. The BVT should have more titles showing and show them more often.

5. Topsiders schedule is very odd and never seemed to coincide when I was ‘ready’ to eat. Sure you can get something quick at Plutos and Pinocchios but if your not in the mood for chicken fingers, hamburger, or pizza then your out of luck. Sure you can order room service – but that usually takes up to an hour. Extending the hours of Topsiders would be very nice. Open from 7:00am-11:00am for Breakfast, then start to add lunch options at 11am and have a ‘Brunch’ until 12:30 when all lunch options are offered until 3:30. Then start offing dinner between 5-9…So many other cruise lines have 24 hour buffet style restaurants.

6. Make at least 1 or more lounges on Beat Street non-smoking. I never went to the clubs at night. On the last night I was at guest services for a while and the smoke was almost overpowering in the lobby!

7. The “WWTBAM” show should be done a few more days during the cruise – but they really need to find someone else to host!

Pictures have been posted to Webshots- Part 1 and Part 2 . The images have been resized and compressed to be uploaded. If you would like a full sized, uncompressed version of any of the images in the galleries, on please send me a private message or post to this thread with the image number. I would be more than happy to send it!

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to pass them along!

I enjoyed reading your report and looking at the pics. The ocean water looked heavenly.
I agree with you about the gap in activities for 18-24 year olds. We specifically planned to cruise this year because my son doesn't turn 18 until Dec. He bores easily and we found that Common Grounds on our last cruise did a fantastic job of keeping his interest and enthusiasm high. Hoping The Stack is just as good in a couple of weeks.
We'll also be making a Costa Maya stop on our cruise & also disappointed not to be doing the stingray snorkel in GC. You're not the first person to mention how pushy the vendors are in CM. I'm not looking forward to that. Hoping to find a nice beach to visit---if not, we'll be staying on the ship. And I once again agree that DCL needs to schedule some extra activities on board for those of us who might not want to get off (ie Costa Maya day).
Count me in as another who cut their evening short in the adult clubs due to heavy smoke. Our last Wonder cruise we had gotten the kids all tucked in to bed and figured we'd venture out for a little adult entertainment....but forget it. I think I lasted 30 minutes before I felt overcome with the smoke.
Your review of Palo is making me really rethink our decision to make ressies there. I'll have to convince my two dd's to let us go for the evening ;) They like to stay attached at the hip to dh and I. They are 12 & 14 and can't go to the same club this cruise because of the age cutoffs so that's the problem. The youngest doesn't want to seperate from her sister so we'll see.............
Sorry to hear about your rainy day at CC, but sure sounds like you made the best of it. This is the one port I am really hoping gives us nice weather if I had to choose.
BTW, looks like we're local to you all. We live half-way between Philly and Allentown. Thanks for taking the time to post :wave2:
