We just returned from 8 nights in a 1BR std view. This was our first time at BWV's and we loved it. The location is terrific, being able to walk or take the boat to two parks is great! The room was clean and large and we took full advantage of the kitchen and the washer/dryer.

We had a first floor room (1117) facing the pond and bridge from the parking lot to the main entrance. Even though the view might not sound too exciting, we really liked having access to the grounds outside. We made friends with some of the local ducks who came to visit while we sat outside eating breakfast. They actually ate cereal right out of my hand. Also, we were only a few steps away from the quiet pool and the community hall, a great place to spend a rainy central Florida afternoon - ping pong, air hockey, foosball, video games all free of charge!

We were very pleased with the variety and availability of food, including the pizza and chili dogs, right on the Boardwalk. There was usually a line outside of ESPN for the dining room, so, we just went into the "seat yourself" section (the bar) with no waiting. Same food and more TV's! The Flying Fish was very nice, but, was a little pricey.

The crowds were getting pretty unbearable by the end of the trip. We were particularly amazed at the crush of people at the new Toy Story Mania attraction. It is obvious that little or no thought was put into managing the stand-by line and the line to obtain Fast Passes when the park first opens. This attraction is in the relatively narrow street behind the big hat. What a mess! We went straight to Toy Story when the park opened. There were so many people in line the Fast Pass return time was already 2:30 p.m. when we got ours.

Construction on the new Kidani Village at AKL is moving along, but, appears to have a long way to go. Ditto for the new Kingdom Towers (?) at the Contemporary. Looking forward to seeing both when they are done.

We rented a car this trip for a change. AMEX special of $256 for 9 days for a Chevy Equinox! I didn't ride a single bus the whole trip. Nice! Highly recommended, especially if you stay at SSR, OKW or AKL.

We love WDW, but, I doubt we'll go back in June/July again. We grew up in the south, but, have long since moved away and have become snowbirds. The heat and humidity, combined with the crowds, made it miserable at times. Just being honest. Something to think about before planning our next trip.

Bottom line - we highly recommend the BWV's and will definitely be back. Although, next time it will be sometime between October and March!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time! We also love those 1st floor rooms in the area you were at. We request them all the time. So easy to get to the bus stop and pool.

I'm looking forward to seeing Toy Story Mania in Sept. It is usually not too crowded then so I'm hoping for a short fast pass time if any.

The heat and humidity in Sept can be too much to handle at times too, but we just take it slow and take a mid afternoon break back at the resort.

Being a snowbird myself..... we go in August.... blood has thinned out by the ;) from the heat and humidity in the Northeast. Hey 92 and humid in NE is the same as 92 and humid in central FL.

Glad you had a great trip! We will be staying at BWV for the first time this November and are really looking forward to it. I love Florida in November and December....not too hot...not too cold...just right! :)
