First trip to Disney, first trip report, first attempt at a blog. We had a few questions before our trip. I included a section on the blog that has some answers to those questions. Please send me some thoughts and suggestions, this is my first bog so I hope it's OK. Plenty of pics added on it also.

"Fort Wilderness lives up to it's expectations and beyond. It has everything you could ask for and more. It is a resort, so some prices may be high. It is very quiet, relaxing, and well equipped to enjoy Disney World, any way you wish. I can honestly say, I could spend a week there without ever leaving the campground."

Well said, FORT FIEND..... Well said.

Glad ya'll had a great trip.

Excellent TR. Thanks for sharing. :thumbsup2

Nice TR. I like the blog approach.
A lot of people think that even though they have a vehicle, feel that they should use the buses, wrong. Drive yourself, unless you have a good reason not to. The buses will get you where you want to go, but as you found out, it will, in most cases, involve a wait. Sometimes a long wait. I guarantee you that the bus you were waiting for did come, they always do. Although it's Disney, it's still mass transit. The announced wait time is approximately, key word approximately, twenty minutes. You can take the twenty and throw it out the window during peak times. How do bus drivers get around WDW when they're guests, guess?

Great job on the blog!

Glad to hear that you enjoyed the Fort as much as the rest of us!

I admire your honesty, Magicbus.

But, I will add that in my experience, the transportation castmembers at WDW are the best!

True, a guest will sometimes have a longer than anticipated wait. But, a lot of times, the wait is shorter than anticipated. In my experience , it all balances out in the end. Plus, the transportation castmembers are almost universally friendly and chatty, so it is often worth the wait.

When we are on vacation, we should all remind ourselves that it isn't that critical to get from Point A to Point B the fastest. The journey is what is important. Taking Disney transportation is part of the experience. We should all remember that it's often good to slow down and just enjoy being with each other.

And, I have seen guests take out frustrations on transportation castmembers. Let's all make an effort not to do that! I am sure they are all doing the best they can, and a delay is very rarely the driver's fault.

Magicbus: I have always out of all of my Disney year found it funny that people wait up to 90 mins for a 3 min ride with No problem. But botch, complain and have a big problem with waiting up to 20 mins for a ride to get them to the parks to wait up to 90 min for a ride. I love the bus rides I can get in a quick nap

Magicbus - I totally agree with your philosophy. We drive everywhere except MK. I'm too impatient to wait for buses; much less having to wait for 2 buses (internal and external) to get anywhere.

Nice job on the report. I have a Blogspot account hanging around in the world wide cobwebs, I think I will use it for my trip report.
