Well I figured I should do a trip report before it gets to late.

Well one evening a little over a month ago my wife said something about the MNSSHP and that we should try that sometime. Well that got my mind wondering and before I knew I was planning a last minute trip. I called about two or three weeks before to see if any dates were aval. but the dates I wanted weren't, then I tried another, nothing, So I was figuring it wasn't going to happen. Then my wife called and there were rooms at SSR one night and OKW another. She called me and I said well just take SSR and waitlist for the others. So she called back and AKV was aval for Oct 12th&13th. So she booked them and OKW for the 14th. Nothing was aval for the 10th &11th. So I booked POP with an AP discount. We didn't get in until 1:00am on the 10th so I figured what the heck it can't be that bad, 2 nights there. Well I was WRONG, not to sound like a snob or anthing but, We didn't like it there at all. The crowds, the beds, room, We just didn't like it. WAY TO BUSY FOR US. We like our DVC. But really what can you expect for 79$ a night.

So we get through those two nights and and take a Taxi bright and early over to AKV( we figure the time it takes to get on two buses to get to a new resort is not worth it, 15$ taxi ride is the way to go) So we get there around 9:00am, We finally check into AKV for the FIRST TIME. No room yet. So we go to AK for a quick ride on Everest and bit to eat. Its around 1:00pm now I call and still no room. No biggie, Lets go hang out at the pool, Great. So around 3:30 our room is ready.

We had Sav view and we fell in LOVE!!! It was so great. We are very happy we bought into AKV. :thumbsup2 The view was so pretty. We kept checking and checking for that last night(14th) but nothing. We ended up switching to a SSR for the last night but kept checking for AKV when we had a minute.

We got a ressie at Lecelliar for lunch while we were there so I got to have my FAVORITE dessert. The smores. I LOVE IT LOVE IT. :goodvibes .

We tried out Disney quest after a dinner at PH, which was fun. We got a ressie at Captain Jacks which was the first time we ate there and it was so good. We will be going there more often.

I called on our last day for AKV for more time and nothing , Then About an hour or so later we were sitting on the balcony watching the animals and I thought well I will call again just because. My wife told me not to bother because I just got off the phone with then an hour ago but I thought what the heck. Well to my and the CM's supprise they HAD A SAV STUDIO!!! Just what we needed.

So the main reason we MNSSHP!!!. My wife has cousins that live down there so we asked them if they wanted to go with us since they go every year. And we don't have kids yet. So it was more fun to have them with us.(6 year old boy and 3 year old Girl) (We are only 24&22 so we have time, We always say, when we have kids they are really going to love us when it comes to disney:) ) So we had dinner at the Wispering canon. They loved the straws being throw att them and the big waters , red crayons. If you have been there you know what I'm talking about. The decor was very nice. MK was all decked out w/ all the trimmings. We had a great time with the parade and hallowishes. All & All it was a great night and a nice short trip.

Glad you loved AKV and that your last night came through for you! It sounds like a wonderful trip. We were at MNSSHP a couple weeks ago and also had a great time.

I agree with you about Pop. We've stayed there a few times on weekends, and it's just so LOUD!! I like the options of the food court, and the kids like the decor, but the rooms are so tiny and I find it difficult to get a good night's sleep with all the noise. I think from now on we'll try to stick with POFQ for our weekend nights. We've stayed there a couple of times and love it.

We also liked the food court area but its just not for us. Just to many darn people EVERYWHERE!!

Its funny we did the opposite then most. We stayed at Pop for Wed, Thurs, and DVC on Friday, Saturday:) But you gotta take what you can get on such short notice

I may be a snob :snooty: , but I refuse to stay at a Value resort. The rooms are tiny, the walls are thin (thus the noise), and the theming (while great for kids) is too garish for me.

I've stayed at POR a times and it's nice.

Glad you had such a great trip! And luck with that villa the last night. I am jealous you were able to buy into DVC so young, that is great for you both and you're right, your future kids will love you for it.

We just bought in 2 years ago in our late 30's and we love it! And just added on at AKV so thanks for the positive report. :goodvibes

That was wonderful pixie dust!! I'm glad for you.

We don't mind, and actually like Pop! We've stayed there a few times, I like the bowling pin pool, and the dippity one with the showers. People have said to shut the bathroom doors to cut down the noise from flushing and we found that helps. We had a HA room this past Sept. at Pop for a night, and the bonus with that was it had a small refrigerator.

I agree that the SV rooms at AKV are wonderful!!! I loved the fact that even at night, in the dim lights that they had, I could see some of the animals wandering. It's just a very special experience. AWEsome.

Bobbi:goodvibes

PS. Enjoy your DVC for many years! You are younger than our DS's! Best wishes!

At night was almost the best part. I loved sitting out there and just listening. I didn't really get to see much but all the noises the animals made was great.

I'm glad you like the Pop, I think it will be our LAST resort though. It was that or a Suite at GF for like 950$ a night that was aval at such short notice. So we went with Pop for 79$;)
