Day One Wed
Our flight was at 9.10am, so we were there nice and early, checked in and ready to go. The flight went very smoothly, lucky for Ross as it was his first flight! Lucas went to sleep so he missed the take off but we were glad that we didnt have to keep him entertained he hates sitting still! We arrived at CDG, collected our luggage and went off to catch the VEA shuttle how disorganised this was. There is no queuing system whatsoever so you literally have to wait for the next bus and throw your bags in to make sure you get on it. We couldnt get on the first bus but fortunately two came together 5 minutes later so everyone who was waiting got one on or the other. I really think something should be done about this, some railings or ropes or something to force people into a queue. The bus ride took just over half an hour and we arrived at our hotel the Cheyenne. After waiting about an hour as It was extremely busy at arrivals, we checked in and luckily our room was ready. My first impressions of the hotel were great, it was very authentic, clean and friendly. The room was nice, I liked the little touches like the cowboy boot lamp and the buffalo patterned carpet! We quickly unpacked our suitcases and set off for the park! The walk from the hotel only took us 10 mins and its quite a nice walk, past the bus station and up the side of the Disney Village. By the time we arrived at the parks it was about 4pm so as we walked in we realised it was right in the middle of the parade. We thought we would go for one of the rides while everyone was watching the parade but of course we couldnt get across Main Street so we watched the end of the parade. We got to the kerb and as some of the characters came past us they made a beeline for Lucas in his buggy! As soon as the parade ended and the ropes were taken away we headed for Discoveryland. To us the park looked busy but this was only because everyone had gathered for the parade. It was in fact pretty quiet as we found out when we more or less walked straight on to the Buzz Lightyear ride. We absolutely loved this ride, especially Lucas! He got all excited as we walked through to the ride and his little face as we went round was a picture! He didnt actually do any shooting as he was too busy pointing and shouting BUZZ!! After Buzz we came out and I went on to Space Mountain on my own, Ross doesnt really like any of the big rides. Again, I only waited for a couple of minutes before getting on. I thought the ride was ok, the take off was really good, but I did have a bit of a headache when I came off as my head was bashed from side to side until I got control of it. From here Ross went onto Star Tours hes a massive Star Wars fan so was really eager to go on this one, and he was quite impressed. We then decided to have a stroll along Main Street where we looked in some of the shops and then went for some dinner in Caseys Corner. This was great for Lucas as he loves hot dogs and chips! I must say the hot dogs were lovely! After dinner we then went on Buzz again, no wait, and then carried on looking round the shops. Lucas was exhausted and had fallen asleep in his buggy so we took advantage of this and headed into the Disney Village for some more shopping before walking back to the hotel and all collapsing into bed. It had been a really long day!
