Trip Report ..3 DVC Resorts in 7 Days and a Cast!

ok, so ..I do have a lot to say, but the internet access here at Saratoga is not the greatest!!

Day 1, my first day at BLT, 11th floor lake view. Near Elevator. Nice room, excellent view. I liked it better then the MK view. To me MK is a waste of points! LV, great view all day, MK, you just see fireworks at night, but you can see them at the Top of the World lounge!!
Just one problem, I am scared to death of heights, so much so I could not go into half of my room!
They moved me to a standard room, which was a MK view. so I got points back and was able to see the fireworks, but all in all, the LV thou to high for me was the better of the views.

I did not think I would care for this resort, it is a second favorite of mine now. Location is great, could ride the ECV to the park and not bother people on the bus with waiting for me... or taking up their time. LOVED my pool! spent a lot of time there! I have several photos will post when back at the BLT tomorrow.... don't ask! lol
I also plan on buying at BLT tomorrow!

Now after 3 nights at BLT I am at SSR, beautiful grounds, but NOT the place for someone like me who cannot walk right now! I ended up on the ground with the CM's having to help me back to room, I feel out in the boonies here.
They found me a night at the BLT till I go back to AKV the rest of my stay.
This is not the place for me. I requested Congress park, I got the springs. you have to walk everywhere and there is no room service!!

So in pain, a cast, and two very bad knees, I am doing 3 nights in the BLT 1 in SSR, anther night in BLT to end it in the AKV! I do not advise others to do this! lol
AKV I have been several times, no issues with that one!!
but I also took photos of the different room types at BLT and SSR...will post more....
I did have a blast at the MK, and the Top of the World lounge!! Brucie is a riot!!

Wow -- what a trip! (In more ways than one). Looking forward to the rest of your report, esp the pics (hope you get to include yourself). Did/will you go to the Member's event at BLT (about Aulani) and have some chocolate covered cheesecake (if they're still doing that). If you're buying direct, that might be the time to do it.

Hi, Natasha! I spoke with you as you got off the boat at SSR last night. I am glad that you found a room at BLT because I could tell that you were in terrible pain. I think SSR is a lovely resort but I agree that it requires a fair amount of walking, especially if you don't have a car. I hope that the rest of your trip is much less painful!

yes, I did do the Members event yesterday at the BLT!! But no cheesecake! We had brownies, cupcakes, rice crispy squares, fruit and drinks! Oh and I won a Members hat!! lol
I then had an appointment with my Guide at SSR, that is when I did the transfer.
They gave us out that fast pass card as a gift, and a nice leather(type)folder that has Mickey and the world on it.

Hi Jean!! Yes, It was stupid of me to try to do what I did! I am paying for it, and have been all night long! I really wish I could tour around SSR, but that is not going to happen, for several years now. I just need to get my 3 surgeries done(2 knee, 1 achilles)and then maybe I can walk!! lol

The boat ride to DTD was nice!! That is the type of things I like to take a look at! I really wish they still had the Adventures Club thou.

well, having tea and toast, then I will shower, pack up and then head over to BLT again!! Maybe a pool day?? Unless they get rain!

My DH has mobility issues and uses an ECV so I can't imagine how you have managed. You sound like such an upbeat soul, ready to enjoy and make the best of things. I love people like you! So, here's to happy packing and an extra special last few days of your vacation!!

well, I did it!! Well, two things....I managed to get the rest of my stay at BLT in a standard view! I have stayed now in 4 different rooms types here and I do have numbers and photos! BUT the room I am in now is over looking the pool, and the internet reception is not the greatest!

second ...I bought at BAY LAKE TOWERS!! I did it yesterday after finding out NOW MUCH I LOVE this DVC property!! and I got again a great deal, so I added on 130 points!

on a medical note, PAIN...that is all I can say! I waited till 12 midnight last night and went to the Magic Kingdom! I have now done everything I have wanted to do..3 times each!! so I am happy with that, but I CANNOT WALK! I just laid by the pool all day today......I know I did more damage to my tendon and my knee...some thing new!

So at BLT, I have done a 11th floor Lake view.....excellent view and internet reception, I have done a standard 2nd floor, which is really a magic kingdom view. I have done a 6th floor lake view, which was a HP room, and it seemed to be right next to space mountain! lol internet reception on that side of the building seems to suck.

I am now on the 2nd floor standard view....I am over looking the shuffleboard, the walkway to the pool and the awesome pool!! nice view.....suck y internet reception!
I have gone up to the 16th floor for fireworks many times now....will tomorrow night then off to the MK for that 12 midnight fun again. and I will take pain meds this time!

I like the BLT, with walking issues, it is not that far to anything ..the hallways are pretty short if you know the elevators to use. The walk way to the Contemp is on the 5th floor, and they did good making all the stores and food right there.
The laundry is good, thou the dryers take FOREVER!! 2 pants, 2 shirts......90 minutes, still not dry!
Love the private little beach off the back side of the pool, and hot tub area...

funny how this is the one resort I have not stayed in, was never impressed with it. It is also funny how much I have fallen in love with this resort!! I never would have thunk it! Everyone is awesome here! Good room service, great 40% discount at the Wave for CM's!! 40% off!!
I have been in studios, so not doing much as far as cooking. But my next trips I look forward to cooking. I really am not impressed with the room at Disney, never have been. If I can save money, and eat healthy, I will!!

The TV sucks as usual. I brought DVD's thou, so my down time is that! They played Tangled beach side tonight...and it feels good to have the rest of my time settled in one spot! I will go visit Bruci at the Top Of the World Lounge tomorrow night as my last night here.....then off to parks.

Glad I got my AP Pass, They announced an increase the other day. So if you are thinking about it...grab them!

We have stayed at the Contemporary but not BLT. Based on your glowing reviews I guess we will need to check it out.
I am happy that you are settled and have not let the pain totally ruin your trip. Congrats on those new points! Nothing like an add-on to boost your happy quotient!

Really..you need to check it out! To be honest, this is the last place I thought I would like....I loved it!! Everyone goes out of their way to help and be nice!! The view also just cannot be beat!! It has been great for those 2 or 3 AM MK openings, that take 2 minutes to get to!! But I leave tomorrow...this week flew by! Now to head home and pack! moving into a new house in NH!

Really..you need to check it out! To be honest, this is the last place I thought I would like....I loved it!! Everyone goes out of their way to help and be nice!! The view also just cannot be beat!! It has been great for those 2 or 3 AM MK openings, that take 2 minutes to get to!! But I leave tomorrow...this week flew by! Now to head home and pack! moving into a new house in NH!

I know...I think I love pain!! lol I am sitting at the Contemp waiting on Magical Express, leaving and heading home!! I think I will take tonight off, get home at 11 pm.

But will get photos up then!!
In a lot of pain today, was out at 7 am and went to AK and then the Lodge and then DTD!! I hope to sleep on the plane.

The internet reception is not great at any Disney resort, so it is not resort specific. I think they do it, to get you off your computer and out of the room spending money, same with TV channels.

Hope you feel better soon and sorry you did not get to enjoy SSR, due to your injury. It is a fabulous resort for us that love to walk the grounds.
