Hey guys

Just back today heres my trip :cool1:

Day 1 Check into POFQ, we checked in late....room was ready, everything was prefect, for anyone wondering about this resort, it is BEAUTIFUL, I really love it, cant say enough good things, very charming, tried a beignet , tasty!
Room was spotless, but I HAD to get on a ride so we RAN over to MGM I rode the Tower twice with no wait, then back to hotel for rest. The grounds of the hotel are just amazing...I have to say I do think you get more theming at the mods than deluxes (except AKL) but I love the grounds at the mods, but ANYWAY

Day 2 Check in to contemporary 12th floor concierge
This was a DREAM COME TRUE, people say the CR is old or lacks theme, but I found it spotless, very clean, best service I have yet experienced on site...we were brought up to the 12th floor for check in which was very smooth, every morning a beautiful spread of pastries and fruits and cereals, bagels etc....in the afternoon, all sorts of snacks and drinks. we had an odd numbered room facing MK, so I could watch the castle as I fell asleep every nite. We had dinner at the California Grill, FANTASTIC!!!! Flatbreads rule! I had the filet, delicious! And the Chocolate Vahlrona cake for desert! PERFECT!

Day 3
We walked over to MK for our Crystal Palace Breakfast, was very good, service was great...LOTS of GREAT character interaction, they were on fire that day! We ahd a lot of fun....then over to MGM crowds were great that day and then back for MVMCP which was great no crowds, everything was a walk on

Day 4
Breakfast at Cindys thanks to the concierge staff, we walked over, we were late (overslept) but sat right away...within 1 minute all the princesses were there to take pictures which was great, service was great food was terrific, loved it will do it again! PArk hopped, AK was empty, rode dinosaur 3 times in a row (love it) saw Festival of the Lion King (very good) then went to see the Spectacle of lights at MGM, very pretty!

Day 5
Breakfast in room at CR, then we went to Universal rode the Mummy 4 times with no wait, had a great time between the 2 parks, had lunch at Jimmy buffets (cheeseburger in paradise) gotta love that place!
Dinner at Chef mickeys, REALLY BAD!!! I loved this place in the past, I dont know what happened BUT, I mean I didnt even eat anything, it was that bad, and I love food, DH couldnt eat it either, so we made a meal out of desserts (but we got some GREAT pics so it was worth it)

Day 6
Checked into Poly lagoon view
Thanks to tikiman I knew what to ask for, our first room had NO view just trees, we moved to Tuvalu 3414, PERFECT!! We loved it, gorgeous view, the fireworks were better here than from CR because of the head on perspective, so we mad it a point to get to see it every night!
No musty smells, lots of alohas, got the leis at check in, no but buigs except for a bit of a nat issue, but no biggie, Tuvalu is practivally on the water. We went to Sea World and I LOVED IT. Fed the dolphins and played with them, pet the sting rays, rode Kraken and Journey to Atlantis (I love splash mountain but this is 50 times better) Dinner at Ohanas!! Dinner was FANTASTIC, service was great and food was delicious!! Might be my new fave rivaling Bomas....Ill have to eat at both twice more to decide :earboy2:

Hands getting tired so I will try and sum it up, things were great the poly, we did the Luau which was great would do it again, like it A LOT more than Hoop de doo, food was better too. Lots of pushing and shocing as the days went on and more people showed up, when pop warner got there I NOTICED IT BIG TIME!! At the end of our stay I wasnt ready to go home, so we added an extra night and I thought it would be fun to do POR again, we had stayed in magnolia bend on a previous trip but never Alligator Bayou, so we stayed there (I liked it a lot, but MB a lil more) anyway I forgot that I read here that Pop warner was there this year and they were loud and roudym they were also refurbing bldg 18, which was next to us....but we still had a great time. Ok cant type anymore, but if anyone has any questions about ANYTHING let me know. Just a final thought for anyone out there about mods vs deluxes, I have stayed at all, and I personally find the mods to be a lot more fun and laid back and better themed. I love the deluxes for different reasons, but definetely think Ill stay POFQ next trip, its too precious!

Thanks for sharing, nice to read something from such an upbeat person! One not-so-good meal in ten days is a pretty good deal.

I absoloutely LOVE to read trip reports by such positive people! Glad you had such a great time! On our last trip Whoop-de-doo and Chef Mickey's were not our favourite either. Little too much - can't wait to try the Luau. Have heard how fun Universal is but nervous about "wasting a day" we could be at Disney. Do you think we should wait if we have a little one? So what were your best moments?

Hey Alysa

I always feel the same way I hate to leave Disney and go, but Universal is A LOT of fun, we buy passholders for both Universal and Disney, so we actually went 2 days this trip, and it was a blast! However if you have a little one, I would wait...it seems to me that most of ther rides are geared towards teens and adults. Dont get me wrong theres plenty for little ones to do, but probably not enough to make it worth it.

I am glad to see your report, we are going to POFQ in a few days, our first time there. It sounds great!! If you have anymore detailed info on the resort, fill me in!!! Thanks!! We requested building 5, is that a good one?? We don't want a smoking one, and I read that building 2,4, and 6 are smoking. Also, does the boat only take you to downtown disney, or does it also take you to MK, if we didn't want to take the bus one day?? Thanks for any info!!

I'm sad to hear about chef mickeys - we've done this before and it was fantastic, and I've made reservations for it again............ hope it was just an off day.......... and that it hasn't gone down hill totally.

Thanks so much for your report. Did you find it tiring to switch resorts 4 times. I've never thought about switching resorts, but it would be a neat way to experience different resorts. :cool1:

Just a quick question about the crowds...

I know it's jammed packed during Thanksgiving week... but just wondering about the crowds the week after. We are thinking of going in 2005 the week after Thanksgiving...
