My DW and I are in a challenging planning situation for a trip to WDW in about a year. My FIL was recently diagnosed with a rare condition similar to Parkinson's that will progressively effect his mobility over the next several years. Due to frequent falls we expect him to be using a wheelchair before our trip. Our situation has created two challenges that I would appreciate any advise and recommendations on:

1) FIL and family took my DW to WDW yearly and we had hoped to surprise him with a pre-planned trip with his grandchildren (and us of course). Having never attempted to plan a trip with someone who is disabled what steps do I need to insure that I cover? Or what are somethings that I might forget due to my lack of understanding?

2) More likely than not this will be his first trip using the wheelchair. And mostly likely he will not know what to expect on planes, buses etc. . What things might he encounter that he will not expect that we should be prepared for or help prepare him for?

While I understand that everyone is different and that there is no simple answer to my questions I will gladly accept any advise or guidance that can be provided.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.
