I'm heading to Disney and Universal with my family during this time period. The last time we went was also in March and I don't recall it being at all crowded. However, I'm reading that it may be one of the busiest times down there. Did something change?

Spring break does happen in mid-March, and some people like vacationing during that period. You'll have to ask Metro West or another Orlando resident specifically how busy it can get.

That week is our spring break. We were at Disney/Universal in 2011 and will be there again this a March.

Prepare for it to be CROWDED at both! Harry Potter was elbow to elbow with a two hour wait at FJ.

If staying at Disney, take advantage of extra magical hours and fast passes. Try to stay at least one night at the Universal hotels to do the express pass line (not good for FJ).

It will be fun but be prepared...

Christmas is much worse than summertime. Christmas is the busiest week of the year.

Well...Spring Break is very busy but nothing compares to Christmas week. During Christmas week, you can expect lines of over two hours for the more popular attractions...even Express will have a line of up to 30 minutes. SB isn't that bad but still you can expect to wait 60 minutes for most attractions during that week.
