Hi folks,

Our trip is coming fast so I figured I better bet my planning sorted, life is crazy and this trip isn't very planned yet, but oh well. Have a few questions for all you experienced folks:

1. Transport:

Still figuring this out, budget is an issues as we are Canadian and our dollar is in the tank...
1. DL Express- $96 for the 3 of us- our flight is in at 5:50pm Sunday the 18th, next bus 6pm- good chance could miss it
2. Shared shuttle- we have done Super shuttle before with no issues.
3. Parking shuttle to In and Out (never been) and then Uber- I heard that you can't do the shuttle anymore so would need a $20 cab? Any updates on Uber?

2. You can't hold onto fast passes anymore and use after the window correct? Buzz is still detached?

3. Wide Right for RSR still working?

4. Lilly Belle- go first thing correct? Do all members of the party have to be there?

5. WOC - super thread info- will read up, any tips?

6. Any Canadians ordered groceries lately ? I heard there can be issues using a Canadian credit card- other options? Seems to be a Walmart near by?

7. Peter Pan - best strategy?

Thank you all so much, would love any per tips or hints :) I have mobility issues (getting over Achilles' tendon issues) so won't exactly be running around the parks. Rather taking it slow :) so want to maximize time

Lets see... I can hopefully add some detail for you.

#1 yes you will miss the Disney Shuttle. If your flight is on-time, you will be at the luggage area around 6:20, another 20 minutes to get your bags, and you are around 6:45. Lansky is another option. total was $175 both ways for the family, plus you get a 20 minute grocery store stop.

#2 correct about the fast passes. They are only good for the times posted.

#3 wide right still works. so does riding single rider... we did RSR twice in less than an hour going single rider. Both times two of the family were in the same vehicle, and in once other case, we raced against each other.

#5 - WOC do one of the Dinners, and get the fast pass from the dinner. We had dinner at Ariel's grotto, walked over to the area 20 minutes before, and were at the very front of the area, right in the center. Could not have been closer.

#6 - They need a Zip code with processing your order. BUT...you do have a zip code.... just use the numbers from your postal code (from the address your credit card is sent to) and add two zeros. So T5J 2L8 becomes 52800 (I work for a bank). Both MC and Visa are programmed this way, just for this purpose. It is a security feature where you may be using a stolen credit card.

#7 - right at opening, or last thing at night... or..... wait in line for 40 minutes...

Have a great time..

Also did you get your Photopass + yet?

valiamo-What day of the week/date was your World of Color show? We have the dinner package at Wine Trattoria and this will be our first trip so we want to be as front and center as possible. I know Fantasmic does not play as much as World of Color but I have been reading to arrive 90+ minutes for Fantasmic so 20 would be GREAT for World of Color! We have our package reserved for Monday, October 26th.

Our last trip was April of this year. we fly into either SNA or LB.. and get the flat rate of $45. for taxi. don't know from LAX.

Correct about F/P no longer being allowed to be used after its time, and as far as I'm aware only show F/P are not connected .

The Lilly Belle is hit or miss. in all the times I have been there, they have never had it open to the public.. but no harm in asking .
You can sit with the engineer if you ask and no one else is there. but I believe you have to do the round trip. the Train will be closing for refurb .. but I don't know when. you might want to look on DLR page to see the refurbs .
When we last went RSR was easy to do with out wide right... if you get there at opening.. you can use it, my family hit Screaming while I went for fastpasses.. and then we all met at TSM .

not sure about groceries.. but up the road on the ART route on Harbor is a Target . and then looking from Disneyland right onto Katella is a cheap grocery store.. a cab should only cost between $6 to $ 10. Walmart is a bit further afield..
if you are doing magic morning , then do Peter Pan first.

Hope you have a great trip.

Honestly for transit to/from airport, I just go with a rental car. I use Budget. It ends up being around $120 for 8 days. It may be a little pricier, bUT we'll worth the small difference to be able to run to store when I want to, and be able to move freely.

We did it on a Friday evening. The park was crowded as there was the Halloween party over in DL. We finished our dinner, walked over to the F/P area and walked right in. it was a short wait and we saw the show. Here is our view, for the entire show, yes we were close, and yes we felt the water spray and the heat from the fire cannons

We use Super Shuttle shared van, with the 10 percent off coupon from the Anaheim visitors website it is only about 11.00 per person, per direction (from SNA). We have never tried Uber, and it may very well be as affordable. But at least the shuttle guys are managed by a company, as in, someone to talk to if there is an issue.

Are they doing 2 WOC shows on your dates? If so, the second show will probably be less populated. We had a great view right along the front bottom railing!

Uber might be useful for a short trip to and from the grocery store, I know there is a Vons within a few miles that is a normal grocery store.

Have fun!

A cab is the fastest and most direct method and will cost about $43 for a car load.

I thought I had read that the WOC dinner packages had seating at the very back of the viewing area. Your pictures and comments are making me think I should still book a package dinner!

The only restaurant that has the viewing towards the back is CCR.

Thanks! That's a shame! We have regular dinner reservations at CCR one night, but I'd happily upgrade if they gave us better seating. I'll have to decide if I'm willing to give up dinner at CCR (which my family has never been to before) or give up one of our other favorites. Choices, choices!

Thanks for the replies :)
No Photopass yet, hopefully this week!

Take a look at the map from the super thread.
World of Color Superthread

The CCR viewing is between #4 and #5 on the map IIRC. I've also heard that asking CM if you can go to the closer viewing areas might work. It's odd that the most expensive meal has the viewing in the back, but on the other hand, the VIP area is also towards the back. It's possible that they think that having the grand overview is preferable to the in-your-face wet zone?

#1 - The Disneyland Express has a AAA rate and I believe honors the CAA as well. It's $20 ROUNDTRIP for adults (2 kids free with each adult) so your rate would be $60 and a great deal if you're really on a budget. We love the Disneyland Express but it drops off at the Disneyland Resort hotels first so you'll have to check the schedule to see if it goes to your hotel in a timely manner if you're not staying on-site.

#5 - We always do Carthay Circle WOC and love it and the area. I've never been unhappy with the area.

What!?! This is news to me. So glad I looked at this thread before our November trip. When did this start taking place? We haven't been to DL since 2012.

So we are getting close!

Transport- ended up booking a car through travelocity- got one for just over $100 Canadian so that saves me a lot with the exchange and that. We can also go to the grocery store easy and on our Halloween party day may go to the beach for the morning. We are driving on Sunday to Anaheim and the following Sunday back to the airport- best route to take?

Thanks for all your info and thoughts, can't wait for this trip!

I don't think we are going to do a dining package for WOC, we are trying to keep the costs down and with the exchange rate, dining out can get really pricey, and I have already booked BB for Fantasmic as there is only one show in 10 days (1 while we are there) Will see though.

Another Question- groceries- I don't shop at Walmart normally, but they have a Walmart neighbourhood market near by, and also a Target- are there groceries at target, or is the Walmart my best choice?

If you go anytime I believe after the 10th of January next year the train will be closed. I've tried the Lily Belle 3 times the most recent was 3 days ago and all 3 times I've been unsuccessful. I believe the maximum number of people they allow on is 14.

We had a WOC dining reservation at Ariel's Grotto in July. The viewing area was front & center to the show. We went down about 30-40 minutes before the show started & were 3 rows back. My son even ended up in the front row for the show thanks to a very nice woman who invited him to stand in front of her, so he could have a better view. We both ended up pretty soaked, but I couldn't have asked for better spots. It was a million times better than the view we had a few years back in the Carthay Circle viewing area.

I've been to both the Target and the Neighborhood Walmart multiple times and either would work as a grocery stop. The Walmart has a bigger selection as it is a complete grocery store but the Target section of groceries takes up about a 1/4 of the store, one whole end. There is a .98 store right next to Target that we always go to when we hit Target. It's great for snacks and all sorts of other things. Last trip we bought a sunglasses for one son and a baseball hot for another because they had forgotten them at home.
