Back a few trips ago I purchased a trip journal from Borders. It had plastic pockets for park maps, tickets etc. I started the journal from the first phone call to book, then updated with every payment, change to reservation, mickey mail and other random stuff. Every night after getting back from park I would write all about our day including food we ate, rides etc. We bring it out often when talking about past trips. It even has little meltdown events that most would like to forget but is part of the trip. You can tell when I was beat because my handwriting is barely legible and spelling is atrocious but that makes it fun. I was able to get several trips into one Journal by skipping a few pages in between. The problem is, it is full and I can't find another one like it. It was made in China and has no information.

Soooo does anyone else do this and if so what do you use. I really loved the little pockets but I guess I can do without them if I had too. I found a couple on amazon but I wanted to see if anyone uses anything better than what I found. Thanks in advance!

BTW we leave on our next trip Sept 30th and return home on Oct. 11th. at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. We were gonna stay at AoA but free dining changed our plans. We've never stayed there so we are excited to check another resort off the list. We are driving straight thru from Maryland with 4 different drivers . We have our tickets for MNSSHP and are waiting for our MBs. Dining and FP reservations are made It is DH,DD,DSIL,2 DGSs and myself. Yes, we know we will be crowded in the cabin but we don't even care. Disney Here we Come!!

I thought I was the only one that did this. I did it back in 1996 for my first trip. It was the most amazing trip ever! We stayed for 15 days at Dixie Landings. There were 8 of us, my parents, sister (who has since passed) and her then fiancé, my now husband and my little brother and sister. I thought it would be a great idea to bring a Trapper Keeper with all of the plastic sleeves to keep things in. I kept everything! I have napkins, receipts, all park maps, resort bags, matches, menus, tickets. It is awesome to look back at the old maps and the old receipts to see how cheap everything was! Even greater that we have it all from the old Dixie Landings! I highly recommend everyone doing this, especially with the obscure items you wouldn't think of keeping! Would love to post some of the old stuff here if I get a chance.

It really is soo much fun to go back and read the entries. It has even settled some arguments over what we did when...etc. I also highly recommend this to everyone!

I've kept travel journals for as long as I can remember- almost 30 years now. One volume is usually good for a few trips. I have never bothered with the ones with pockets and dividers. Just a bound journal with blank pages, easily found at any stationary or book store. I keep it in my purse and will often jot down notes during quiet moments during the day, and then a longer entry at the end of the day.But I do bring a plastic folder ( the kind that has the flap and elastic closure) to hold all the paper ephemera you accumulate on a vacation. After the trip I label the folder and it goes into a rubber maid tub with all the folders from previous trips.

The journals and the folders are great when I scrapbook a trip, when we're planning another trip to somewhere we've been before, or to answer a question that might come up. I had to hunt through the one from our last trip to Italy because I wanted to recommend a certain restaurant in Rome that we had really enjoyed. There's something really enjoyable about reading through a written journal - its just not the same as reading something typed into a computer.

. Have you stayed at AoA before? If so, please post a trip report when you get back comparing AoA with the cabins! I really want to stay at WL or the cabins for our next Thanksgiving trip, but the kids are hooked on AoA! (I admit, I love it too.). Good luck finding a journal you like :)

We have not stayed at AoA. We were booked there but wanted to take advantage of free dining so we jumped to a cabin. I really want to stay at AoA in the future though but am looking forward to our stay at Fort Wilderness.
