I'm hoping to fit us all into our Trailblazer instead of having to take the Suburban. On that note, I am trying to figure out exactly what I will need to bring and what is available at the resort.

First, are there life jackets available at the HHI pool(s) like at the WDW pools?

Second, I read that there are green and white striped pool towels provided in the villa for use at the pool. Is this in addition to the supply of bath towels? We have a 1BR so laundry isn't an issue, but I do not want to have to use our bath towels for the pool. If that is the case, I will pack beach towels.

As far as beach chairs/umbrellas...are they available for rent from the resort? If so, how much?

Ice machines...is there one available at the beach house? This will help me determine which one of our coolers I will need to take.

Bikes...we're bringing ours, but where do we park them? Will we need to keep them on our bike rack or is there a "parking area"?

That's all for now....I'm sure there will be more to follow:surfweb:.

I'm not positive, but I think they are available at the main pool.

Yes, the green and white striped towels are for use at the pool. You will also have the usual compliment of bath towels in your villa. The resort will also exchange the pool towels if you'd like. Just exchange them at the recreation window.

Beach chairs and umbrellas are not available from the resort. They may be rented from the Beach Patrol lifeguards. Many buy chairs/umbrellas locally (WalMart, Sam's and most grocery stores carry them) since they ae a little pricey (but very convenient) at the beach.

From HHIsleInfo.com:
"The lifeguards on Hilton Head get paid based on commissions on rentals of beach chairs, umbrellas, recumbent beach bicycles, hobie cats, and water tricycles. You can rent any of these and more right on the beach. A "set" of two chairs and an umbrella rent for $27.00 the first day and $16.00 on subsequent days if paid in advance (2003 rates). The company involved is called Shore Beach Services and their phone number is 843-785-3494. You might want to try some of the companies that rent bikes, cribs, etc. for chair and umbrella prices. Island Cruisers, for one, has available sand chairs and an umbrella for $20 per week, but you will have to take them back and forth (843-785-4321)."

I'm not sure about an ice machine, but drinks are available at the snack bar and also at the pool bar.

Most guests will just park them near the stairs of their building. No need to keep them on your bike rack.

Have a great trip. HH is a wonderful resort! :)

The freezer in your room has an ice maker. We keep filling ziploc bags when we arrive and leave them in the freezer. When it's time to head out, we grab however many bags of ice we need and throw them in the cooler.
