We did not buy trip insurance for our trip on 9/7 to Disney. Second guessing that decision. Is it too late to buy it now? How much is it per person and if not too late, how do I go about getting it

If you booked through Disney I would call them and ask. We usually get it since we go in August/hurricane season. I think it was $139 for the three of us when we went last year.

Once you've made your final payment it is too late to add it. Adults are $75.95 each and children 17 and under are free with paid adults.

Why have you changed your mind?

You can go to insuremytrip dot com and do a comparison of several companies.

I usually get it when I cruise and for the medical part of it out of the country.

You probably wont need the medical part but for the amount of the trip only put in what you can not recover on your own like prepaid hotel or airline tickets.

I am not sure what if any thing you can get back from Disney if you can't go but that should be added to.

It will take you a while to go over all the plans but should be right around $100 for 2 adults, kids are always free but need to be listed.

Another vote for insuremytrip.com.

The second time I used them, we had a convoluted schedule so I just called them and they walked me through everything.

We use insuremytrip each time we travel. Depending on when you made your deposit, you might not be eligible for the pre-existing conditions on some plans. We usually end up with Allianz Classic since I believe the kids are free and the coverage is pretty decent.

We unfortunately learned the hard way the value of trip insurance. My father-in-law passed away suddenly two days before our big Disney World trip. Since it was within the 5 day cancellation we lost deposits on our first nights hotel and had to pay a lot of penalties to change airlines (which we booked separate from a package). since our Park Hoppers were non refundable since it was within a week of travel, we ended up rebooking everything for 6 months later.

I booked trip insurance using Insuremytrip, it was with Travel Guard. The cost including airfare for 2 families (mine and my sis) was $205.

Same here, for mother daughter trip, $79.00. There are some plicies that state a 90 day or similar waiver for current health pre existing. Pick out three and hit the compare.
