Trip Insurance

I always buy the trip medical insurance. I have gotten it through my bank and through AMA. I have never used it, but do like the protection that it gives me, in case something should happen. I have through my credit card company protection against lost or stolen luggage, trip cancellation, lost ticket replacement, and emergency document replacement. Check with your credit card company to see if you have anything, and if you have AMA, see if the membership you have covers anything.

RBC for trip cancellation, interruption and medical. Good rates, excellent coverage.

I use CAA. I just compared a family plan vs pc financial and it was $10.00 cheaper.

I guess you have to take into account the annual fee but we have had CAA for years.

call around and get quotes from the different banks. I called our bank, they deal with Blue Cross. Well for the 13 days its 348.00 for family. I called the Royal Bank, same coverage nothing different at all 94.00.

Our TA recommends the RBC Deluxe Plan (medical, cancellation, interuption, flight delay, baggage, etc.) I think my work plan and credit card have some form of medical coverage, but we travel out of country so infrequently that it's just easier to get a package I know is "all inclusive".

Only problem with RBC is that if you don't have an account there, you can only buy the insurance through a TA.

RBC Deluxe IS the way to fly (or cruise LOL)! Plus add 'rider 2' unless you purchase Cruiseline air. I am a TA..used to be that one could purchase online but I guess that's all changed now for whatever reason. It's ok tho, we don't bite..and the cost is the same to the penny!

Just don't skimp on the insurance- too many horror stories out there!

You dont need to get it through a TA. You can just go into any branch and get it or if you want to use a credit card to buy it you can do it over their 1-800 number.

I have ALWAYS bought medical insurance expecially travelling with children and ALWAYS used Blue Cross and never had any problems with having to go to Emerg or getting prescriptions love them and will always use them
