Trip Insurance...Driving to HH next month

Do you ever purchase this? I was thinking this morning about it since we are driving to Disney's Hilton Head Resort next month and in PA we have had some big storms in March. Based on the paper that Member Services faxed me...It would come out to about $32.00 for the premium (126 pts. x 5.00 per point = $630 reimbursement x 5.15% = $32.44). Did I calculate that correctly? How far in advance do I have to purchase this?

We have been members since 1998 and the only time we took out insurance was for a cruise. Otherwise, we have never not made it to our resort on time. Most storms don't last more than a day.

we booked a trip to HHI a few years ago and happend to have an arrival date the day a hurricane was scheudled to hit the island. since one had never made a direct hit on the island for over 100 years we decided to chance it (plus my sister lives in NC so we figured we could always crash with her if it did). We were also driving from PA. Our guests decided they did NOT want to chance it and becuase of the sever weather warnings, disney had a very liberal room cancellaiton policy and not only gave us our points back for the 2nd room but also let us bank them (even through we were past our banking deadline). as it was--the storm did not hit the island, the weather was downright gorgeous and we had the place to ourselves.
