trip insurance and using points

Hi, does anyone know how to calculate cost of trip per person when using DVC points to pay for trip? I want to get insurance through Access America but I am not sure how to calculate per person. Thanks for any help! Kim

I would just assume that each point is worth around $10.00 because that's what they rent for right now.

Hi Kim,

In the reservation packet that we received fron DCL it stated that the insurance through the company they use is $5.00 per point, we went through Access America, but I just based our trip on $1000.00 per person, for the four of us, I paid $182.00

It was cheaper for Angelina, but a bit more for my mom, the charges are figured by age.

That is correct, but then you pay 5% of that. So for us, say, it was 520 points for DH and me. That's $2600 and 5% of that is $130.

That's only for the trip cancellation, etc. The medical coverage is different. We also took that and did it all through DCL.
